Subject: help me find a happy medium between these two goggles
so i have been using the TYR Technoflex goggles for over a year and recently tried out some swedish goggles. well the swedish were pretty good, but im still not sold on the fit. today when i put my TYR goggles on for a swim, i realized how much more peripheral vision i have with the swedish goggles. i couldnt believe the difference. i also realized how comfortable my TYR's are. my problems/questions are as follows.....

1. swedish do not seem very sturdy and seem susceptible to damage during a race. thoughts??
2. has anyone found a substitute nose piece for the swedish goggles other than the string or the little rubber band piece?
3. does anyone have a recommendation that would give me the peripheral vision of the swedish but the comfort/one piece-ness of the TYR?

thanks in advance everyone

I use TYR Racetech. Have for years. In the alternative use a different one for each eye. :-) I knew a guy who used 2 different colored goggles, but he was wacko.

When it comes to goggles, fit trumps all other factors.  Find a store that carries multiple brands & models, and start opening packages to try them.  If you can't find a pair that fit you as well as the Tyr with the periferal vision of the Swedes, then you've already got the best goggles for you (the Tyrs).

I am personally a big fan of Speedos, and have worn them for over 20 years.  Vanquishers rock!

I've always used swedish, for the nose piece just cut a piece of the strap and use that.  Much more adjustable and comfortable for me.

I've not used the TYRs, but I picked up a pair of Blue Seventy Vision goggles and they're insanely comfy with tons of peripheral vision.

yes - TYR Socket Rockets.  They are like the swedish with the nice nose strap, but have a bit of padding around the edge and a clear field of vision (or at least I think so).  Love them.

I switched from swedish to the rocket sockets too. I thought the swedes were great until I flet that extra bit of padding on the rockets; very comfy

X3, I've had these for almost 2 years and I love them. (I think I have 3 or 4 pairs) I can't wear any other goggles because they feel like too much on my face, and they're cheap too! You can get a basic pair of Socket Rocket's for about $6 and the fancy mirror tint ones for about $15.

I wear the TYR Technoflex, too, and I really like them.

I've tried TYR's Raceflex, and Nestpro; neither of which gives me as broad a field of vision as the Technoflex. I really like the one-piece frame.
