Wow - what a great turnout for this event! And, I have to say, an incredible location. I would not be surprised at all to see this turn into the Tecumseh Tri from here on out. It was a total blast!

Good to see Elvin, David, Val, Dawn - and of course my teammate Tracey! She said she saw Saci there too. I hope everyone else had fun!

Was a great location for the swim.  The weeds were not too bad and the public works guys did a great job with the rocks and zebra muscles.

Thanks Jenna for asking me to be part of the relay - that was a lot of fun!

Congrat Dave for the AG finish!!!!  Sorry I can't wait until you get the trophy because my wife has plan.

I miss Saci and David...  Nice to see Jenna and Tracey again!  Nice meeting you Geoff.  Thanks for the pacing Jenna!  You are FAST!  and Adam(If you are on this forum), you too!  Great bike ride!

Jeff, I think I saw you Wink

I am having my recovery drink now (aka Beer) so I might or might not be able to compile a race report.

Great race everyone.

Is anyone else getting dizzy trying to keep track of all of the Davids around here?

Yes, congrats to all. I don't know how I missed seeing most of you -

I agree that it was a great location and hope it stays there next year. They are supposed to be creating a beachfront, which will certainly be easier than climbing up that ladder out of the water.

My 12 year old volunteered - she was the one telling you to slow down and cheering you on at the first curve on the bike course.

Our biggest thrill was having my wife do her first try-a-tri. According to her "the word athlete and my name have never been used together in a sentence before." She started cycling & swimming in May and JUST started run/walking about 4 weeks ago. She's lost 30 pounds preparing for this and that was my proudest moment - seeing her come through the finisher's chute. I had my fingers crossed that she'd get hooked on tris, so now I'm looking forward to us being able to do events together.

By the way... my wife just realized this morning that Tracey and Jenna play soccer with her co-worker Cathy. What a small world.... they've been talking about triathlons at work and they just realized the connection.

Saci - that is so great that your wife has picked up the 'bug' to.  Now we just have to wait for my husband to get it too.  And that is soo funny about Jenna and I playing soccer with Cathy......what a small world!

Oh, BTW, here is our relay results:

Name Team On Your Left
Time 2:00:45
Class Placing TMIXR 10/16 (mixed team)  15/22 overall
Bike (Place/Time/Pace) 16/1:10:23/25.6
Run (Place/Time/Pace) 8/33:10/5:32

Although is was VERY fun doing the relay, I must have to admit that the waiting was hard and I really just wanted to do ALL the race myself.  LOL

Congrats on the relay - but I agree. I've only ever done a team once - and I felt exactly the same way you did.  I swam and then watched for the bike and the run... I prefer doing the whole thing - although I'd consider an IM as a team since I can guarantee I will NEVER run 26.2 miles.

Nice!  now you have a triathlete family!

My wife volunteered too!  She is at the 6th corner in the run course.  Hopefully she will advance to triathlete status in the future!

btw my race report is up!
