My race on Sunday is an olympic. The next three days are supposed to be rainy and cold so I am expecting a muddy cold day. To date all my races have been in the 80's so I just wear tri-shorts and a sleeveless tri-top. Any ideas what type of top I should wear?

Weather.com shows the 17315 zip as being partly cloudy with a high of 79* on Sunday.  I think it will be a little chilly in the morning but it shouldn't be too bad.

DO NOT FORGET YOUR NIPPLES!

Cover them with band aids or body glide or something to prevent chaffing.  I ran a 25k in the rain and did not know this and had chaffed bloddy nipples for 5 days afterward.

Swimming in the rain is also weird.  If you get the chance I recommend that you try it first.  Also try to stay warm before the swim. Don't stand there freezing for 1/2 hour.

Say waaa?  How do you even notice when most of you is underwater?   I rather like swimming in the rain b/c IMO you don't even know it's raining!     It does off the lifeguards tho.

same thing as you normally wear.

watch the painted lines on the road and the puddles when you ride.

My first tri was last weekend with the same kind of weather. I overpacked trying to be prepared. I ended up wearing a shorty wetsuit, bike shorts over the tri shorts and a rain/wind vest over the tri top. For the run I put on dry socks and running shoes, everything else remained. By the end of the run the vest and tri top were unzipped & I was warm. Keep your clothes etc dry & the temp is actually pretty nice.

I experienced my first rainy Sprint Tri Race last week.  I did bring a few extra pieces of clothing (long Sleeve Under Armour Top) that I might use on the bike or run.  I didn't end up using it and was fine in the bike and run portion.  The bike was very hilly and I just didn't notice the cold.  I did bring extra socks for the bike as well as the run and did change into them in Transition.  I used plastic bags with zippers (the kind you get when you purchase bedding or sheets) these were very helpful see through bags to keep my running shoes, hat, socks and race belt dry when it rained during the bike; although I didn't zip the bags up I just closed the lid to provide some cover from the rain so I would have dry shoes and dry socks.  Worked out well.

Stick with what you would generally wear; unless it is unbearably cold.

Swimming in the snow is more fun.

Yups short race, tri suit, have fun, watch the painted lines and breaking distance.

If you were doing a longer race HIM or IM you might need to look at a jersey or something to keep warm if your pace was not enough to keep you warm throughout the race.  I was in a HIM where some folks got cold in the rain on the bike and actually had to stop, but that was 56 miles, much different than 24 miles.
