Subject: Toes Hurt While RidingI have only been riding a road bike for about a year and half. My longest ride so far is 40 miles, but I have quite a few 30s complete. This spring I went from MTB shoes and SPD clips, to Pearl Izumi "Tri" shoes with speedplay pedals. My problem is my toes start to hurt after about 20-25 miles. I am not sure if this is due to my lack of experience, or it is a problem with shoes/cleats/pedals. I did have my cleat moved, and then helped some, but it still doesn't feel right especially when climbing. Any suggestions on how I can figure out what to fix? I have 2 more OLYs this year which I can get through since my feet stop hurting as soon as I get off the bike and I switch shoes. But, I want to do a HIM next year and right now can't imagine how I will feel just doing the training. |
