Being in southern Iraq, I do not believe the claim of 120+s up north. Or am I reading it wrong. Was only 110-ish down south recently.

Otherwise, that's pretty hardcore, hot and difficult. It's hard enough in your regular gear.

They should have done a "before and after" to show how he could do without the gear versus with it.  Sure, running in all the gear has to be a beast but it doesn't have any "perspective" to it.  I'd bet that the guy could probably run in the upper 5's, low 6's usually.  Then people could grasp how hard it is to run with all that crap on!

"The host says the record was broken at an airbase in Kirkuk, which is in the northern latitudes in Iraq and this being still April, not quite in the 120-degrees-in-the-shade territory."

Meaning that up north is not as hot as the the "120 in the shade" south.

Thanks. I didn't quite get it. I figured I was reading it wrong.

Ill be running with my fire gear on during the Stephen stiller tunnel to towers race(5k) later this year...not sure how my gear(about 60lbs) compares to EOD suits...I'm sure theirs is much heavier.
