Subject: RE: Clemens found not guilty on all countsI am a big baseball/sports fan, but it drives me nuts when congress gets involved in sports. So the fact that some players did/did not use PED is suddenly a national priority? I guess more important than fixing the economy, or even fixing the bickering and dysfunctional state of the government. Just a bunch of politicians seeking the limelight. Baseball is just a game. Sports is just entertaining, same as movies, theater, music concerts. Maybe politicians should also inquire into drug use among musicians and actors. Would make as much sense as they getting involved in this (or the BCS, or any other sport issue). Spending $2-$3 million dollars of tax payer money on this case is INSANE. The issue here is not whether Clemens used PED or not, is about spending tax payers money in trying to solve an issue that is not that important to begin with. The fact that the main witness for the prosecution was (is?) a drug dealer (as PEDs in this context are considered illegal drugs) also adds an ironic twist to the whole affair. |
