Subject: RE: Race Walkingchirunner134 - 2012-08-06 11:42 AM there walk is really weird looking. It is very hippy. There is a lot of technique and a lot of lonely hours training. Probably no more or less than marathon runners or 10k runners. And at that pace, they could keep up with them. They have 40k soon. Which is almost a marathon... At the pace they can to a 30k, they are talking about WALKING a sub 3 hour marathon. That makes no sense. But the sub 20min 5k blows my mind because that feels like an all out sprint for me (well, close). But there technique looks horrible on the spine/hips and looks like serious future problems to me... I could be wrong. Maybe they shift the hips in an anotomically correct fashion that's EASIER on the body. Like the baseball pitch. The overhand pitch is TERRIBLE on the arm/shoulder. Underhand throwing is almost as fast and much more anotomically correct and easier on the body. |
