Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I posted this in another thread, but here's my hypothesis: Gre LeMond needs doping scandals. Why you may ask? Think about it, when was the last time that Greg LeMond got any face time for anything other than talking about doping in cycling? Doping scandals give LeMond the opportunity to get his miserable mug on T.V., and then it allows him to remind us how he is the greatest living cyclist and certainly the greatest living American cyclist. The fact that Lance is famous and considered one of the greatest athletes ever kills LeMond. (Greg seems to ignore the fact that all LeMond ever did with his fame is lend his name to a line of bikes and take time every year to bad mouth every cyclist that has come after him, while Lance has helped raise 100's of millions of dollars for cancer research) Yup, without doping in cycling, Greg Lemond would never be heard from again. We would never see him interviewed, he would disappear. All he would be is an answer in a trial pursuats game. Greg LeMOnd needs doping, without it he would fade away. And truthfully that's the best reason yet to clean up the sport! |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() What I find so funny about Greg Lemond and doping is the knowledge that he still holds the fastest time trial average speed ever. Now....if as he suggests....everyone who is a contender dopes, wouldn't they have beaten his speed by now? Better bikes, windtunnels, training? Just sayin' |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This has been posted before on here and on ST but it is still funny as h3ll! Minneapolis, MN -- Greg Lemond today released a statement that said he has, reluctantly and with great sadness, been forced to add the 2006 Tour de France to the long list of tours that he should have won. Lemond initially believed, and was even quoted in an earlier interview as saying, that this was the first clean Tour de France in many years. However, in light of the recent positive doping test of tour winner Floyd Landis, Lemond has concluded that, in all likelihood, he himself should have won the tour this year. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() There were definately rumors about Lemond doping in the late 80's. Look at the chipmonk cheeks he had in 1989. Now I realize that the cheeks and huge legs that he gained after the shooting accident do not indicate that he was guilty, but it is interesting to see his change from before the accident to after. |

Member ![]() ![]() | ![]() and the fact that when he beat Fignon, everybody said he cheated because he used those clip on areo bars (Scott DH clip ons.. I have a set in my garage; Fignon used the old style cowhorns) and that gave him a huge advantage. Many felt he should have been disqualified (Ok well just the French did) since technically tehy had not been approved by the UCI at the time/ Lemond has unfortuantely become a very bitter ex pro. And to think I use to look up to this jerk! |

Member![]() ![]() | ![]() I had a chance to get a hell of a deal on a LeMond bicycle. I just could not stomach the idea of putting money in that mans pocket. |
