Yup, my wife and I are both doing it. First half mary for her.

Actually, technically, it's my first half mary, too...I've done a couple marathons, an 18-miler, a half iron (so a half mary run segment), and even a 20K trail race, but for whatever reason I've just never gotten around to running a stand-alone HM.

I am signed up with two friends who also did the DisneyWorld Full Marathon in January with me.  I ran it last year and it was unbelievably hot!!  Swore I was not going to do it again, then they threw in an extra finishers medal if you also did the Disney World Half or Full in January, so we said what the heck!!

We also just signed up for the Silver Strand Half Marathon in Novembe in Coronado.

Me too! My girlfriend and I will be doing it. It'll be my gf's first, and lemme see... something like my 7th or 8th? I'll be taking it easy and doing it purely for fun since I'll probably hold back to run with her. I also have another HM (America's Finest City) 2 weeks prior, hence even more reason to take it easy.

Oh, I also plan on doing Silver Strand Half in November as a practice run for Rock N Roll Arizona.

Yes, I do lots of half marathons.

The America's Finest City is a more strenuous course compared to Disneyland.  I run that final hill everyday on my lunch hour since I work downtown and run up to the park on my lunch hour.  That hill always seems so much harder at mile 12.5 versus the start of my run at lunch.  LOL

Don't forget to stop for your margarita on Boradway at Margaritaville!!

So does anyone who's done it before know where we can park the morning of the race? Are any of the Disneyland parking structures open for parking?

Also, how strict are they in regards to the corrals? They're probably going to place me in one of the earlier ones, but my gf will be in one of the slower ones, so in order to run with her I'll want to start in a later corral. I'm assuming moving to a slower corral won't bother anyone (whereas the other way would)?

I always stay the night before within walking distance so I don't have any info on the parking.  Here is a link to the prorgram on-line..not sure if they have made the link available on their website yet.  A little monkeying around with last years URL

As far as corrals, they are good if you want to move back corrals, they are rabid if you try to move forward.

The main parking structure will be open early in the AM. Just follow the cars, try to get there before 5am as they start to close the streets.

You can move backwards in the corrals, no one will care. I will be doing the same as my wife is walking and she will be in the last corral.

Not that it always means much, but early weather forecast looks great.

Wow. I have to say that race start was the most electrifying race start I've ever been in.

Anyway, I have a somewhat off-topic question. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to clean your castle medal? My gf's medal has some grime or something in between the Disneyland letters and it's REALLY hard to get it off. I've tried using water and a pin to scrape it, but it just isn't cutting it. Any suggestions would be awesome. Or if anyone knows how to get another one or exchange it.
