Subject: IMFL Volunteers

I recently decided to sign up to volunteer.  I noticed on the site, it says:

We will have a volunteer meeting for all out town volunteers Friday night 5pm at the Boardwalk.
Thanks for volunteering and see you in November.

I'm not sure I'll be able to make it as I was planning on working a half day on Friday, then an ~8 hour drive.  Anyone planning on going?  Anyone know if I should attend (or have to attend)?

My area leader told me that the meeting was not mandatory, but would provide useful information regarding events of the weekend. I'm going to try to get to the meeting.

I just volunteered at IMOO and was also unable to attend the pre race meeting. Just e-mail the captain and let them know. Most of the volunteer jobs the meeting is not mandatory but there a few that they are.The captains were in pretty close contact the week before the race.

The captains for both of my volunteer posts said if you can't make it to email them and make other arrangements to get your shirt, wrist band and info.

I'm bringing mine.  Might go for a ride Friday depending on when I get into PCB, but definately on Sunday.  I'm also considering using it for transportation to and from T1 where I'll be volunteering.  My hotel is a couple miles from transition I believe.  That'll be a last minute call.

Let me know if you want to ride!

Great...you're totally messing me up Surprised...I was going to bring the bike...then decided not to...now may change my mind.  I have borrowed a rack that looks a bit risky, which is the big hesitation right now.  Gotta consult the coach and see what's in the works for running while there...plus wanna swim in the gulf...then I'll figure out if it's worth it!  I know Kathy G is also on the fence.

No bike--but I am bringing my wetsuit--I'd like to see what an ocean swim feels like before I sign on the dotted line and hand over the credit card on Sunday morning for '09!

I'm volunteering in the women's tent. We're driving in on Friday. We'll probably only have time to go to the volunteer meeting and out to eat that evening.

Can't wait to meet everyone!

I'm officially not bringing my bike. It would cost $150-400 to bring..seems silly. Some nice BT friends offered to lend me their bike.

I will be riding in front of the pros on the run...fun stuff!!

Hi Volunteers,
I'm a BOP'er and will be very tired of being in my own head for such a long time. I'm not THAT interesting. When you see me, say hi. It will be the highlight of my day, trust me.
Thanks in advance (you can't miss me, trust me on this one too).
