So far, so good. Just got back from my first followup appt all looks well. He said I can do any kind of exercise I want altho warned me that sweat in my eyes will hurt. So I'm going for a run. The real pain won't kick in until later this afternoon so may as well run now.

I'd love to get laser eye surgery....maybe one day.

As for my workout, 41min run today - quicker pace though for 3/4 of it.

HORRIBLE run at 10 this morning.

30:12, but I barely made it.  Getting CRAZY bad pain in my calf (not cramping, but REALLY bad muscle pain), as well as up the back of my thigh.  It's actually painful to even move it.  I'm really REALLY hoping it has nothing to do with changing up my shoes, because my old Nimbus' were DEFINITELY worn out

Glad the surgery went well!!!  Recover quickly, and by that I mean, great job on the 32 min. run

Uh oh, I don't like the sounds of that....brings me back a couple of months.

I don't like the sounds of that uhoh!  Especially coming from a crazy good runner like you!  Arghhhh!  Was it a footwear problem for you Jon?

This is the second time this has happened, and last year it messed up training pretty badly.  It feels like the same type of pain, but more intense.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

PS: Sorry for hijacking the challenge thread!

40 min workout on the Bowflex and 30 abs. I would love to run but that'll have to wait till after knee surgery!

*edited*

Well holy .  I wouldn't believe it if I wasn't there.  30 minutes in the pool, 1000m.

Actually, it was a minor pull of the muscle. My shoes hadn't changed, I think I just didn't warm up properly before I started putting in too much effort. What's your calf feel like first thing in the morning? Or during the day, not when you're working out?

*Edit
As for suggestions on what to do:
Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation

But also, make sure you're stretching your calves really good before and after your workouts. Also, try and do calf raises at least once a day to start strengthening them. It's working for me.
