you remember me? "I want to stop being stupid" or stuanch supporter of Iron gus?

I'm still here....apparently still being stupid regarding my healthy lifestyle. The one good thing about it is that I did start a blog of this flipping journey.

*sigh*

I just can't seem to get it together. and it sucks way more than you know.

I seem to do well 3 weeks, fall, do well 3 weeks then fall *repeat 390423890482390 times*

I guess I shouldn't obsess over what I did when I lost 60lbs 4 years ago, I should just do.

Sadly it probably won't change life just isn't that black and white, but I think the little "relapses" get farther and farther apart the longer we're at this.

And trust us... some of us DO know. too well! Ack!

We're totally with you here though. (off to go look at the blog)

I'm there with you.  I know I'm not supposed to eat those cookies, but I still do and then I complain that I can't lose weight.  And, I'm only consistent with exercise for a couple of weeks before I decide to "rest".

I am hoping that what IdealMuse said about these incidents getting further and further apart, is true.

This year as a whole will probably be better nutritionally & exercise wise than last year.  And next year will be better than this year.  Etc. etc.  It is a process whereby each year we're a little more healthy & a little more fit than the year before.

Start over.  Set new goals.  Goals that excite you & goals that scare you.  Get a plan.  And do it.

latrina -

What part are you struggling with most right now? Maybe people here can offer suggestions?

I've had bad times too. I've been up and down all over for the last 15 years or so but living my entire adult life obese. Recently I gained back a handful of weight over the winter time and it took me awhile to find my groove again and I'm still working the last bit of that off before I continue on my weight loss journey.

It was frustrating, but I had to get past it cause time goes on no matter what right? I started using the bodybugg which helped me quite a bit. Maybe if you look into something new instead of trying to rehash what hasn't been working for you? It doesn't have to be a fancy gadget like that, but even just a new series of habits or what not.

FWIW, I found this to be true for myself.  I'm pretty much going through my final iteration of getting the healthy eating thing down (took three years).  Doesn't mean I'm not going to take a day (or three) off here and there down the road, but I'm definitely finding it easier and easier to maintain the standards I've set for myself.

Latrina (and any others), is there any interest in starting some sort of thread where we report on how we're doing nutritionally?  People post daily intake over in the runner's world forums and I always thought it was a good idea.  Sometimes being held accountable, even by strangers, makes a huge difference.

x2!
Cookies, cookies, cookies! I do all the cooking in my Family. And I have just jumped back on the wagon for the millionth time. On Saturday I made cookies at the request of my children.
Now you know I want to say I was strong but that cookie dough kept staring at me, and staring at me. Then it spoke to me! "Kiwi" it said. "Go ahead, no one is looking". "You know you want to"!
And well you know what happened next.

How's that for keeping it together?Smile

I actually really like that idea... maybe it would help me feel a little more accountable about what I'm consuming! People who are logging food somewhere could also put up links to their nutrition logs so we could check up on and encourage each other.....

Latrina, you've done it before and you can do it again. I am only just into my journey and I know it can be tough. All I can say is that you need to be committed. To me that means not obsessing about things day to day but instead making sure that you can do what you can, when you can, to ensure you are on the right track. I have learned that you will experience highs and lows and that you will have good weeks and not so good weeks. You just simply need to stay the course and have faith that it will all come together. I do know however, that it is easy to say than to do......
I have faith that you will succeed.

Gus... staunch Latrina supporter Wink

It is hard.  Good thing that everyday I see people who are not even trying and have to realize the condition I was in, am in, will be in, in comparison to them.  Luckily, I also have people that I hold up as the gold standard of how healthy life can be good for me and I try to emulate them.

Those set backs do seem to be fewer and farther between than before.

thanks guys.

The part I'm having the most trouble with is the food. And it's purely because I don't/get lazy with planning. I have always got to plan or as we know, we fail.

check in? I dunno. I'd be down...unless you guys already started.

Like someone said, new plan (check), new goals (check) and new mindset (in progress)
