Subject: Welcome to Scott Tinley, Sara McLarty and more to follow....When I heard Scott Tinley and Triathlete Mag were parting, I got excited...sorry, but it's true. Excited as he could provide the catalyst needed to make some great changes to the article content we have on BT. To start making us a real virtual magazine instead of just a collection of "how to's" The NEW homepage will reflect this. Though I have to thank the BT moderators as they have been key in helping to transform the homepage and content and to get me thinking more outside the box. At the Rev3 Tri in Knoxville, we all spent a few nights talking about you how the site can be made better. A few mods mentioned that BT has gotten complex just due to all we offer and as a new user, it can be intimidating. The new homepage should give new users an easy look at what we can help with along with videos. The mods also wanted some better content then the usual 'fluff'. They gave me people they want to see write and also topics to address. After Tinley was confirmed, we were able to snag Sara McLarty and some others that will be starting in the next few months. We hope you like this new direction. For Scott's debut article, you should find that it attempts to discuss a common question that I see come up in the forums - 'How do I balance triathlon and life?' Our demographics are the 35-45 yo athlete, many who return to sport after the family has started, many who easily injure trying to reclaim the speed of their 'glory days'. Many also have a hard time finding balance between work, family and this new sport. I thought that this would make a perfect first article for Scott since he has been there, done that. His only request to you, the reader, is that you print it out and save it for reading without the normal everyday office distractions - it's very thought provoking. We also thank Sara McLarty for her first article for Beginner Swimmers. It's going to be a great series as this is also a topic that comes up in the forums a lot. We hope you like these changes! |
