Subject: Welcome to Scott Tinley, Sara McLarty and more to follow....
When I heard Scott Tinley and Triathlete Mag were parting, I got excited...sorry, but it's true.  Excited as he could provide the catalyst needed to make some great changes to the article content we have on BT.  To start making us a real virtual magazine instead of just a collection of "how to's"

The NEW homepage will reflect this.  Though I have to thank the BT moderators as they have been key in helping to transform the homepage and content and to get me thinking more outside the box.  At the Rev3 Tri in Knoxville, we all spent a few nights talking about you how the site can be made better.  A few mods mentioned that BT has gotten complex just due to all we offer and as a new user, it can be intimidating.  The new homepage should give new users an easy look at what we can help with along with videos.

The mods also wanted some better content then the usual 'fluff'.  They gave me people they want to see write and also topics to address.  After Tinley was confirmed, we were able to snag Sara McLarty and some others that will be starting in the next few months.  We hope you like this new direction.

For Scott's debut article, you should find that it attempts to discuss a common question that I see come up in the forums - 'How do I balance triathlon and life?'  Our demographics are the 35-45 yo athlete, many who return to sport after the family has started, many who easily injure trying to reclaim the speed of their 'glory days'.  Many also have a hard time finding balance between work, family and this new sport.  I thought that this would make a perfect first article for Scott since he has been there, done that.  His only request to you, the reader, is that you print it out and save it for reading without the normal everyday office distractions - it's very thought provoking.

We also thank Sara McLarty for her first article for Beginner Swimmers.  It's going to be a great series as this is also a topic that comes up in the forums a lot.

We hope you like these changes!

I am so happy to see you will have Scott Tinley doing articles for BT.  His back page article was always the first place I turned when Triathlete arrived in the mail.  Triathletes loss is now our gain.

Ron, I suggest making Scott's article more identifiable on the homepage.  I tried to find it without using the link you posted above and didn't see it the first 4-5 times I went looking for it.  His name isn't mentioned in the little summary paragraph and with the article at the bottom of the page, not many people will see it.

This deserves people's attention so I'd love to it get a easy to see prominent place on BT!!!

Just my 2 cent...

Andrew, you may be the 5% that still get the 'old' homepage.  We are still testing it...does it look the same as it did before?  If so, clear your cookies and you should get the new homepage.

I see it now!  Moved from my home computer to my work computer and there is indeed a difference.

Thanks for the help.  Looks great!

Wow ... great additions to the BT community - and awesome resources for the site.  I met Sara McLarty at the USAT Coaches clinic in Orlando last May, not only is she a super triathlete with an awesome swim resume but she is a pretty cool girl as well.

Well done, Ron and Mike.  BT has really grown over the past couple of years.

Simply outstanding. I let my Triathlete Mag subscription expire after Scott left. I was sad I wasn't going to be able to read his wit and wisdom, so to see that he is here is simply awesome. Not exactly sure how we should welcome him, but I'm sure he'll outgrow his "noob" status fairly quickly.

Did somebody show him the secret handshake and tell him about the tattoo?
