Subject: Need to get back on track...
I left for vacation a week ago Friday morning, we drove from Houston TX to Orlando Fl. It was a total of 2400 miles round trip. We walked around the Disney parks for four days, must have walked 10 miles a day. I did my best to eat healthy, no fried food and only a little junk (OK, we had ice cream almost every day!) I have not had a workout at all for 11 days! I also picked up a pretty bad cold. I was going to run at lunch today, but it was almost 100 deg. I am planning to run when I get home from work tonight. I am having a hard time finding the motivation. I just need a place to talk about it and to be accountable. I will check back in after my run. Thanks for listening.
Joe

I have usually found that after breaks like this I find an increased love for my training...sort of an absence makes the heart grow fonder thing. Also, I have been pleasantly surprized at how my base does not really go away with breaks of this length. Since you used your legs a ton on the vacation, you probably have lost very litte.

Go out and seek the joy of moving your body with only your body as the engine..it is what running is about

Think of how much better you'll feel after you run, no matter how good or bad the run is...

Thanks

Joe,
I'm curious, what do all the symbols in your signature mean?

If you look at just right, maybe cross your eyes a little, it's a pace line.........
