This makes me feel better about riding by the rules (see the rant / psa in my RR).  Look at that penalty column!  It's almost as densely populated as the packs were!

(Yes, MrsAK picked herself up a 4 minute dinger somewhere!)

It was pretty obvious out there...  It seemed as though I was getting passed by groups of 6 to 20 tightly packed riders the entire race...  was just trying t steer clear of them as much as possible...

Thanks for posting this, I hadn't seen the penalties yet. I'm still pi$$ed off about some of the garbage that went on yesterday and am glad that I see some ramifications for it. I'm sure they still missed much of the drafting that went on, but it does make me feel a little bit better.

How do you accumulate 12:00 of penalties in one race? There were a bunch that were overachievers like that.

They added the penalties, 4:00 for the first, 8:00 for the second.  4+8=12.

I heard all of you talking about the "peletons" out there! And yes, makes us all feel better that we try to follow the rules. (Even sometimes that is hard, by the way the 'rest' are riding...hard to pass a peleton...even if your pace would be quicker!) So nice job Donkai Nation!!

as said before "there are alot of friggin fast donkeys out there" and so!!!

Wonder if Lori was one of the unfortunate that ended up forced into a draft situation.

I am glad that i made it a point to obey the rules, but I still can't get over how blatant some of the people were.

She doesn't know where she picked it up.  Waiting for an e-mail back from HPF.

sometimes it was hard NOT to be in a group..................there were a couple of times i was on the tail end of a large group that it became nutrition time so i would slow a bit to sip the bottles and what comes up from behind?  course marshal!  pulls up next to the group and just starts writing down numbers!  the first time it happened the group just looked at him.....

I was in a similar situation where a group of ten was passing me and I tried falling back but as they passed me a marshall buzzed up and wrote down my number

no, thankfully I didn't.  But I was certain that I was going to be.  If I would have, I would have subtracted it back out of my official time.
