I have planned to drive about 3 hours next weekend to race in a Grand Prix series event in hopes to qualify for the age group nationals in July, but I have been sick all this past week
(and still am as I type this - thank you runny nosed nephew
), not to mention training was slackened due to family visiting from out of town the previous week
As I was reading the requirements the part where I HAVE ADDED ASTERISKS has got me stumped
(this would be so much easier if I had HTML skills
):

2006 USA Triathlon National Age Group Championships Qualification Standards
Every athlete at the 2006 National Age Group Championships must qualify at a USAT-sanctioned event to race. This event is the only intermediate-distance triathlon for which athletes have to meet a strict qualification.
How do you qualify?
Grand Prix Series events and Special Qualifiers will qualify the top 33 percent or top five finishers
(whichever is greater
) in each age group.
*****Any non-championship USAT sanctioned event will qualify the top 10 percent or top finisher
(whichever is greater
) in each age-group.*****

I have met this "asterisk'd" requirement several times last year
(in the time frame required for this years nationals
), and twice already this year, so does that mean I am already qualified?
I know, I know, I need to write USAT, but there is nothing like instant gratification
