Sorry but pathetic IMO. Not a very PC word I know...

Any guy that is dumb enough to present a contract and say "see, you haven't fulfilled your sex duties for the week" is not going to stay married long, he might even need to look up the word eunuch.

Like the article says none of this is enforceable, I would think 2 adults would be able to get to know each other well enough to have an idea what to expect out of a marriage between them without paying some attorney to do it for them.

Exactly.  I'm trying to imagine the kind of people who think this is the way to go...I don't think I know anybody like that.

The advertizing to content ratio on that website is amazingly high.  Yeech...

I think our society is getting too far away from actually communicating with each other.  It does seem ironic since technology has made it "easier".  But people are expecting more without asking for it.  If you are going into a relationship, you should be comfortable enough to discuss what your needs and expectations are.

I saw this the other day and thought about posting it here.  lol

I know many times in my marriage I'd try to get my wife to do something and I'd jokingly say it was "in the contract" so she had to do it.  I usually got a laugh.  So, I can see some healthy parallels, but writing it all down on paper and truly expecting somebody to follow it is just weird if you ask me.

Plus, what I wanted at 18 when I got married is nothing even close to what I want now at 39.  I'm glad I'm not locked in on a contract.  haha

Does this mean  you're pro-contract or just in favor of more discussion and communication?

I think it's easy to get into trouble when you don't communicate your wants/needs.  You'd think that years of marriage would mean needing to do that less, but sometimes, for some things, it doesn't.

I still can't imagine having it in writing and using that contract for any sort of leverage, especially for things like sex.  Maybe for things like training time/alone time/hobbies, especially when kids are involved.

Maybe they have built-in rewriting periods?  Renegotiations?

Ugh.

You got married at 18!?  Wow.

How about "I promise not to hit you if you promise not to cut off my b*lls when I'm sleeping, and since we're a couple we'll figure out the rest as we go along?"

Now this could get entertaining.  Sarc font contract points have a lot of humor potential.
