Welcome to the Running Challenge

Things that slime, things that slither, things that crawl and frankly creep me out! Think spiders, snakes, cockroaches and maggots…. Just don’t get squished!

Your team line up is:

1. Irongirl39

2. Max

3. McFuzz

4. PT Cruzer

5. Riorio

6. Rowdypaint

7. Tkbslc

8. Tupuppy

9. Twocat

Please introduce yourself to your team below with your goals for the challenge and running in general, what they are training for as well as names and any other general info.

You will also need to nominate/select/volunteer a Team Leader whose role will be to collect the commitments for each runner and collect your team results every Monday.

Your running time must be logged in your BT Log for verification purposes, but you are responsible for reporting your weekly results to your Team Leader on Mondays, this is done by posting an update in your team thread in the challenges forum unless the team prefers another method.

Attached to this post is an excel excel spreadsheet to be used by the Team Leader for your team tracking and should be sent to me on Tuesdays AM so I can get an challenge update post in the forum by Wednesday each week. The spreadsheet includes the details of any team members who have already made a challenge commitment.

I will be maintaining a Team Leaders thread for any queries, questions etc so if there are any problems please let me know.

This is a team competition so please support your team mates with inspires, motivation and encouragement as well as pledge your allegiance in your sig line, log and even avatar!

Good natured sledging and competition with the other teams is part of the fun so feel free to stir up a bit of friendly rivalry.

Most importantly this is all about fun and you reaching your goals!!!!

So…time to get running! Let the challenge begin!!

Hi everyone,

This team is perfect for me as I live in the desert! Been known to find some of those creatures in our backyard!

I'm in for 60 miles and am gearing up for my A race on Oct 28th

Hello to all you creeps!  Heh!  I am Max and my wife Patti is PT Cruzer, so I'll kill two spiders with one footstep and introduce us both here.  We are in for 75 miles each.  They will be "walking" miles, since I am hobbled with foot injuries and she suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and just walking is rough on her.  But we're determined not to let the team down, and in 10 minutes we're off for our Monday's plan of 2.5 miles to kick off the month!

GO CREEPS!

BTW, I carry my own "creepy crawlie" with me...hmmm, Cat, how did you know?

Hello my creeps! This will be my first challenge. I'm Heather and I've committed to 30 miles - hopefully running most of that. I suppose the team assignment is appropriate since creepy crawlies will definitely cause me to run. Especially the eight legged variety!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

I’ll try to be Creepy for this.  I’ll most definitely be Crawly (run pace) for this.

Hi team.  I’m Ty and I put myself down for 420 MINUTES (not miles) since I run train by time and not distance.  I expect to start this with at least a 30 minute run tonight and that may depend on if it is raining or not.

Good Gawd!!!  That spider up there is just too much.  Sorry, I had a couple of too-close encounters with them as a kid...

Anyway, I'm Pattie and I'm in for 35 miles this month.  I'm a very slow runner, so that is going to take me a while.  Other than that, I'm a HS English teacher, just had my 40th birthday (yesterday) and live on a farm with my DH, 3 horses, 2 cats and a dog.

Guess that's about it.  I'm going to go work on my spider issues now. Embarassed

Hi everyone!

Glad to be part of the team (though I am NOT a fan of anything creepy or crawly - present company excluded)! This is my first BT challenge, and it's perfect timing since I did my last tri for the season on 9/23 and have since switched my focus to running. I'm hoping to get 60 miles in this month! My "A" race this month is the Marine Corps Marathon 10K on 10/28.

Hey Laura!  Welcome to the team.  I'll be doing the Marine Corps 10-K as well.

Pay no attention to those donuts...that's just Spokes doling out a small bit of his daily allotment for himself.

Hi everyone!  Just joining the creepy crawly party.

You know, it occurs to me that, as bugs, every single day we are very much maligned, totally misunderstood, cruelly stepped on and squished, zapped by electricity or blasted with Raid, and all because humanity is afraid of us.  And why, might you ask?  Oh, I'll tell you why.  It's because in the dark shadows of their deepest fears, they know that we are the PROPER RULERS OF THIS PLANET!  Oh yes, it can no longer be denied.  And at last, this challenge is our chance to prove it, to get even -- to take back what is rightfully ours!  Vive le resistance!  *Raises tentacle in solidarity*

(By the way, I'm Keith.  42, diabetic, triathlete wannabe.  I'm good for 30 miles. )
