Subject: problems with routes in BT?
Is anyone else having problems with the route manager in BT? The map doesn't load when I try to create a new route...

Ontherun - 2008-01-31 8:38 PM noticed the terain, but the new route I just made dose not have elevation included in it. Just posted my new route as Gym route.

It appears the elevation services aren't up at the moment. The services we use to get elevation data are separate from BT and don't have 100% uptime (the primary one is a web service run by the US Geological Survey). There's not much we can do about it. That's why we included the 'Reset Elevation' button. Try editing the route tomorrow and use the Reset button to get the elevation data.

USGS is still down. I've found and configured/programmed a backup service to get elevation data.

The dataset isn't as accurate and I think it's a tad slower but it's still pretty good and certainly better than nothing. The USGS elevation service is still the primary, so that's checked first and if it doesn't come up with anything, the route tracker queries the backup service.

Let us know if you experience any problems or weirdness with this.

Hey Marmadaddy,  thanks for all your hard work.  The route function is amazing.  I love seeing the elevation of different runs.  This site rocks.
