I saw a 14"+ Largemouth in Barton Springs during my swim this morning. A big hog with a fat belly. Probably >2 lbs. Whats the biggest/most interesting fish you guys/gals have seen on a training swim.

4-6 foot barracudas are common. Haven't seen a shark yet, but I know they're watching me.

Leopard sharks during the La Jolla Rough Water Race. In Florida, manta rays, occasionally.

I was on a training paddle, not swim, but a sea lion popped up right beside my ski.  Scared the living heck out of me.  It then dove back under and I never saw it again.  I got back to shore in record time.

I regularly see Dolphins and an occasional Sea Lion on my Ocean Swims. Stingrays and Jellies are also a common sight depending on the time of year.

I did see a big Dorado jump out of the water last month that looked pretty large. We also swam through a shoal of some sort of smallish sized fish (2-4 Pounds) and were probably Corbina that close to shore.

Two week ago while on vacation in Bahamas I had long swim along beach and I am alway looking side-to-side in addition to straight ahead on the OWS. Amen for AquaShere goggles allowing for wide views. About 500 yards in to the swim I spotted a 50lb Sun Fish off to my side that scared the S%^$ out of me. They are harmless, but helped in picking up my pace just a bit.

nice! Ocean swimming sounds a lot more interesting. Although I've seen barracudas snorkeling and head straight for shore at race pace X2! they're creepy lookin'

It was only a few inches long, but while standing between doing drills in a lake a few weeks ago a fish struck my nipple ring like it would a fishing lure.  Scared the crap out of me for a second, but then I couldn't stop laughing at the adsurdity of it.  Surprised

I usually see a band-aid or two....and a ball of hair....sometimes a little plastic toy.

Oh wait, this is in the pool.

Last night I was swimming in a nearby lake and saw a very large shellcracker (aka bluegill) sitting near a bed of broken up shells. I think it just sat there and ate to get as large as it was.
