Hi folks!

This spring's temperatures are not giving me confidence that I'm going to enjoy the water temps reported in previous years' race reports for MSC Woodstock next month.  I have no wetsuit and although I've "enjoyed" hypothermia in my younger years, i'm not so excited about it these days.  Any recommendations on wetsuit rentals near Kitchener-Waterloo?  Surely there must be someone on this side of Toronto that rents them... I'll need size short/fat.

You can try Running Free in Milton.  I know they sell them, but believe they also rent them.

Foot Tools in Burlington also rents wetsuits for about $40 for the weekend - Thursday to Tuesday.

All wet water sports in Kitchener / Waterloo may rent them - 

All Wet Water Sports

 New World in Burlington also rents them

FWIW I did the Woodstock Sprint race last year and the water felt warmer than Milton on the following weekend.

Its a fairly small body of water and so it should heat up fairly quickly.... if we ever get warm weather that is.

Woodstock does indeed warm up quickly. It is a smaller and shallower body of water. You won't really know until about 2 weeks before the race but if history is any indication it will be a wetsuit optional race and not wetsuit mandatory.

Awesome!  more options and good to hear about how warm it will/may get.  I just worry that because I'm slow, I'll  be in the water WAAAAAAAAAY longer than the vast majority of you and get colder as a function purely of time! :D

mulitsport zone in London also rents them and they should be on Site race day.  John can probably verify.

 

John - are Jennifer and Laura in charge of Volunteers again this year?  I would love to volunteer, at 7 months pregnant race day, I don't think I'll be racing this year (but I live just across the lake).

The Running Works in Guelph claims to have Zoot wetsuits to rent. I'm going to try that myself as I'm doing the Cambridge Tri soon. I'll be spectating at Woodstock so good luck in your event!

If you find any other good sources locally let me know. Xterra is offering amazing deals right now to buy but they don't have inventory and can't ship for another month.

D'Ornellas will be at the race site and have wetsuits to rent. You can call and order your size at 416-752-3838. It looks like it will be wetsuit optional based on the weather forecast and water temp.
