Subject: RE: Elitr Triathletes height and weight measurementsI was quite interested in this myself so I did a quick bit of maths based on the height and weights of the first 3 and last 3 finishers of the mens triathlon in the 2006 Commonwealth games. HEIGHT: So, the average height of the first three is 1.74m. Average height of the last three was 1.76m. So it seems that height has no real effect. WEIGHT: Average weight of first three is 66kg whereas the ave. weight of the last three was 44.6kg. (Range is from So it would seem to be that the height to weight ratio is more important than either height or weight on it's own. Therefore, the best and cheapest, way to become faster would be to loose weight. (And yes I know that these results are based on very limited data so not necessarily 100% accurate but it gives a rough idea.) |
