i'm sharing last night's movie review here in COJ, just as a warning to others.

love sam jackson, found the internet influence on the film interesting, and love the 'mothaf***in' snakes on this mothaf***in' plane' line, along with a few other great one liners...but that was about it. they lost me sometime between the mile high club people getting killed and the guy who get killed by a snake biting his you know what (and no, i'm not spoiling the scene for you...you could see it coming from miles and miles away). super annoying ending too. not romantic hook ups, but lots of 'will you be my booty call' hook ups.

I'll probably end up having to see it, but one of the biggest complaints I heard was that the movie "failed to embrace it's campiness"... Even after it was outted as a joke on the 'net before its release.

My favorite quote from the promo period was when one critic was asking Sam Jackson about the "oscar worthiness" of the film (as a joke) and Sam said "This isn't MacBeth.  It's Snakes.  On a plane.  Pretty much says it all right there. " and started laughing.

It takes a pretty solid star to be able to laugh at, and make fun of, his own movie.

yea...there were so many moments that could have been funny had they been pushed further, or scary/good if they had been scaled back...but the middle ground left me thinking or saying aloud 'they going to...oh, they didn't do that, did they? what was that?'
