Hey Everyone!  Some of us have noted that not everyone from the December Teams seems to be up for a similar challenge in January.  So, we decided to form a new team.  The SWIMMING TRI-STARS!

We have 3 members committed so far, and others are welcome to join, (just have to keep your yardage committment -- we don't want to lose!)

The team so far consists of the following:

UTTriman

Rabkaman

drmac

Happy January Swimming!

Hey, I didn't partake in the Dec. challenge, so I am teamless. Can I join you guys? By the way, I'll set my goal at 12,000m.

I think I am teamless also.  I live in the Midwest but didn't do the Dec. Challenge.  I think I would be on the Blizzards but it doesn't look like they are participating in the Jan. Challenge (unless I am not looking at the right thread).  Can I jump on to the Tri-Stars team?  I did 11,350 yards in December. I think I will push hard and shoot for 15,000 in January!

Ok, so who do we have on the Tri-Stars so far?  Is it just the four of us?  And are you our fearless leader/captain Brett?

I took a peek in everyone's training logs and it looks like January is off to a good start.  Brett rocked with a distance workout - impressive!

Let's go Tri-Stars!!!

Yep, I'm aboard.  Brett suggested 12,000 as a goal for me so that is what I'm going with.  I really pushed my running last month and this month I'm working on my bike strength but this will help make sure I don't diss my swimming.  Go TRI-STARS!

I'll join this constellation. I'm up for 20k (pool should open on the 9th). Need to get swimming numbers up since I haven't swum much in last 4 months and have an Iron-Distance race in May.

I've read the rules; is there anything else I need to know/do?

Welcome Daremo and Dragoman!  Don't worry about smallish swim goals, some of these people are actually training to be fish, not triathletes.

Hey everyone!!  I'm in for 11,000 yards.  I have a feeling I'm going to surpass that goal - but I wanted to just go up 10% from December.

TRISTARS

Team Roster and Yardage Commitments as of 1/4/2006

UTTriman (Captain by default) – 25,000

Rabkaman – 25,000

drmac – 18,000

davealt – 15,000

workoutbunny -  11,000

kimta – 15,000

pilotncommand172 -- 12,500

hangloose – 12,000

Daremo – 12,000

Dragoman – 20,000

I am assuming all commitments are in yards.  I know a couple of you have told me meters, but in the chaos of getting us organized I may have made a mistake or two.  Please confirm to me  (UTTriman) by PM your yardage commitment, and whether you’ll be reporting in Yards or Meters – Thanks!

We have a killer, highly committed and motivated team.   Let’s show the others what the TRISTARS are made of!   We don’t want no loser avatars on our team.

We have a couple other team members who we are in “negotiations” with and so there may be a couple others added.

TO ALL OTHER “TEAMLESS” CHALLENGERS.  PLEASE let me (UTTriman) know by PM not later than 1/6/2006 if you would like to join with us since I have to send our final roster to Marmadaddy by the 7th.

TO ALL COMPETITORS!  HAPPY SWIMMING ==  AND MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN

My goal is in and I will be reporting in meters.  So I'll just bang out an extra workout to cover the difference in distance.
