Subject: Hey ladies ... I am looking for a tri top

I am having trouble finding a tri top that fits.  I HATE the way the Zoot tops fit and I haven't found anything else that is long enough and that fits right.  I am looking for something I can do the entire race in.  I have some great Nike tops but they don't dry fast enough.

Any suggestions?  Thanks!

DeSoto has a new top this year that is longer, fits well, and is supportive with a built in bra and I wear a D. It has two side pockets.

Look at this one.

Try 2XU....... I had the same problem wit De soto tops being too short and too big in the waist no matter what size I tried. I just got a 2XU tri top with matching shorts and its the bet one I've tried. I, however, do not have a D........ they don't offer that much suppoer. I am only a B so I can get away with using the build in sports bra that comes in it. Any bigger and you'd have to add your own or find a different top

Oh, I like that!  My only concern is that my race is not wetsuit legal and the description states:

"This top has two pockets on the lower back panels, so swimming in it without a wetsuit over it is not recommend. "

Have you ever used it without a wetsuit?

How did you figure your sizing?

I don't have the same tri top, but I do have one with pockets in the back, and I have worn it for non-wetsuit swims without any problems.  I guess the pockets probably create some extra drag, but I didn't notice it.

It says that it is not a tight fit ... how loose is it?  I prefer snug - how did you guage the sizing?

Thanks!

I race in this Craft top, I have two and love them. They are so comfortable and fit tight enough without compression. I wear a tri bra under it, but you might be able to do without.

I wear a 2XU top and am happy with it.  I've tried Zoot & Sugoi tops and wasn't thrilled with either.  It's taken me awhile to find a top I'm happy with.  It runs on the small side just to warn you.  I normally order small tops and I have this in a medium and it is still very tight.  There are pics of it in my album.  Order the pink if you get it!!!

www.desotosport.com

They make plenty of tops from sports bras to corset tops to full length tank tops with pockets for gels. And the full length tank is a little longer than most I've tried.

Hope this helps.

I got a SkirtSports top this year and always wear it for OWS bricks and races.  Built in bra, the tummy is fitted but not skin tight, and it's long enough that it doesn't ride up when you're riding.  And I love the pattern, which also helps camouflage my less-than-perfect physique.

edited to add:  Forgot to mention that it dries really fast -- much faster than a sports bra.  And there's a cleavage pocket inside for a gel, maybe 2, which I haven't used yet but plan to this weekend.

It's tight in the top, to hold things in place, ya know? But mine fits me a little looser in the stomach area....you can see the wrinkles in the fabric from the picture. I really like the way it fits, because I've found when the tops are too snug, they ride up on me.  This one doesn't...and I love that. As far as sizing goes...I wear a medium in regular shirts...and I bought this in a large. If you want snug, you could try going down a size.

Regarding your question about swimming without a wetsuit. Yeah...it does create some drag...but it doesn't seem too bad. I just love how it fits...I really wanted something that was longer and didn't ride up.  I wonder if you could sew the pockets shut if you don't use them. That may help.

I have to agree with the other ladies about the DeSoto top. I love that top ~ perfect lenght, not too tight but not too lose. I have had no problems running, swimming or riding in it and I feel comfortable in it! I highly recommend it.

Do you know the name of the top?
