Anybody who runs deep section rims know if any Milwaukee bike stores carry anything 700 X 19 and 80mm presta?  I had some luck with wheel and sprocket in brookfield for some other stuff but didnt get the right thing a few weeks back, so dont know if they have the right thing.  I suppose i could make a phone call, but i think you guys are smarter?

It would be cool if there was a device that we could use, where each store has an individual code or set of numbers.  You punch in that set of numbers and viola, you could speak directly to someone at the store!  I wish we had that.

I was in BRK W/sprock a week or so ago and they have some sweet race wheels on display.  I'm surprised they don't have the tubes you're looking for?  I'd bet Hales Corners does if Brk does not.

Also, dont buy the 80mm....you need like 36-40mm and use that extender.  80mm valves still wouldnt be long enough alone and that extender would stick out like 4 inches with them.

Oh yeah, and there is a magnet glued to the inside of the cutout on the disc if you have a rear wheel pickup.  Shoulda mentioned that before....

been looking online but going to look around.  i forgot to ask ya too if you need removable cores for the extender you have.  i have an extender on the alps on Lara's bike, but it works meh i.e. full inflation of the tires.  i just leave the presta valve open all the time with the extender on.  probably not the smartest?

No removable cores.  I think those are only on tubular tires anyways.  The extender screws right into the valve on the tube.  The extender on there lets you open and close the valve - remember me showing you?  Works the same as screwing a presta valve open or close.  That valve works really good getting the tire fully up to pressure. Very little air leak when pumping.  Sames goes for the crack pipe.

Youre not gonna put different tubes are you?  Keep those latex ones in there.  You shouldnt have any problems the way theyre set up righ tnow.

i would only have problems if i flatted and i am not going to MOO with no tubes   so i guess the question is then if that one with the extender is just a regular presta opened up under the extender, with the extender acting as a second valve?

The part that you turn on the extender to open/close its opening actually connects with the tube valve and will turn that one as well.

gotcha.  since you are here, do those wheels work good for cyclocross? just curious, not asking for any reason

You can use double stick tape to put a tack strip on them.  Works like a charm climbing grassy hills!
