Mid-life crisis. It's marginally cheaper than a sports car/mistress.
That's funny
In my 20's I was still in great shape from college athletics, and staying fit/slim/being able to go for a day long hike or roller blade for a few hours or ski hard for 3-4 days was easy. Suddenly, at 30, fitness was not natural, the eating habits that had before been fine suddenly packed on weight, etc. At 30, my options for "fun" sports were limited (Not too many adult field hockey or lacrosse leagues in WI ) so I started riding and swimming and running to get back in shape and saw a tri as a good goal.
Naturally, I also negelected to notice that a 30 yr old body doesn;t recover quite as fast as a 20 yr old, so overuse injuries abounded.
I know to many BTers, 30 doesn;t seem that old, and I should quit complaining. I am mostly speaking to you 20 somethings--DON'T LET UP, 3o sneaks up on ya! |
