It's funny how much I have changed mentally and personally since training for a half marathon and a sprint triathlon. Here's a little peek of how much has changed.

Shoes:

Then: "Oh, the newest Ferragamo boots! I love them"

Now: "Oh, I only have 477 miles left on these shoes, I can't wait until I have put 500 miles on these babies!"

Reading materials:

Then: Glamour, Vogue, Cosmopolitan

Now: Runner's World, Race Center, Triathlete

Body Image:

Then: Boy, I need to lose weight, so I can look better than anyone else!

Now: I need to be healthy and fit for my races. If I have a little pudge, so what, it will come off eventually

Makeup and Hair Regime:

Then: 15 minutes on hair and 15 minutes on makeup. Full makeup

Now: 2 seconds on hair and no makeup, unless I am going out.

Clothing Style:

Then: Perfect outfit and matching shoes belt and purse. Had to look the best at all times.

Now: Fitted t-shirt, running pants or bike shorts and a fitted t shirt. Either wearing Teva sandals or my biking or running shoes, unless we go out.

Triathlon mentality:

Then: Yea, right, I would never be active and strong enough to do one, but great for eveyone who is.

Now: I can do this and I will do this! This is my life!

I dunno Kristi...it all sounds perfectly normal to me.  A woman who's ready to go in minutes?  You just labeled yourself as the "microwaveable meal of romantic relationships."

Keep it up...you're doing great!

For me it is mainly,

Truck needs new tires, but I need a new HRM.

N.Y. strips at the butcher, naw I need a wetsuit.

Toilet paper at the grocery store, yeah I really don't need that fuel belt that bad.

I hear ya!  I just got my hair cut yesterday and it's a little on the short side.  I'm pissed because it doesn't fit as good into a ponytail!  Damnit!  I'll also peruse the racks of workout clothes a lot longer than the regular clothes...I wear the workout clothes more often!

I don't think any of those excuses would fly on "What not to wear."

THAT's GREAT!

I would NEVER spend 50 bucks on a pair of jeans..........but 80 bucks on a pair of spandex shorts is acceptable.

I would NEVER spend 50 bucks on a short sleeve shirt.......but 65 bucks on a new jersey is a steal.

My workout wardrobe is more up to date than my work wardrobe............ and I don't care.

I am going for my 6 week hair appt. today.................. shorter please w/ more highlights..... I don't even want to have to blow dry it.

Going out with friends.....instead of figuring out which beer I am having next.....I am wondering how this will affect my workout

LOL, you'll have to visit Patti and me more often and play ours.  I think it has your name on it!

I think spending $80 on a pair of running shoes is worth it. Ever since I got my Asics, I haven't experienced any pain or any kind while running.

Spending 3 months' salary on a diamond ring? Nah, that's just marketing gimmick.

I can relate to all of it MsPiggy. What striked me was the change in reading material when i did a little cleening of my reading piles! For the clothes, i am now asking myself "could this microfiber sweat be worn at work?" so i can justify buying more sport clothes! And i have now atteined my hair goal: the ponytail!!!

Last year: if we have a little extra cash, we could buy patio furniture (wich we didn't)
this year: if we have a little extra, i want a trisuit... we can sit on logs
