Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I think they should postpone game for at least a day or two. Although neither team is in contention for playoffs. How terrible to see this happen. But, not to make this sound callous, it's only football (a sport). Did they postpone the luge race a day or two after that guy smacked into the beam and died at the Olympics? The azzhole killed his girlfriend....who cares what he does to himself after that? I'm sorry....I may not be able to wrap my head around suicide....but I don't have a problem wrapping my head around killing someone in a domestic situation...I've seen way too much of it. Those guys are all control-freak pieces of crap in my book. I hate that he killed his girlfriend....but I'm glad he's gone. I wish all like him would kill themselves with no other victims....save everyone alot of trouble. Edited by Left Brain 2012-12-01 9:47 PM |

LB, if everything is as it appears to be (and not him acting in self-defense when he killed the mother of his child) I'm right there with ya. |

![]() | ![]() Suicide can only be done by someone who is not in their right mind. It's so against your body's reflexes. So it is ok to have extreme anger that he killed his girlfriend, but it's also worth looking into why he went down this road in the first place. I feel most sad for their baby. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() btw, are there any folks out there familiar with social services that can explain to us what happens next? I would hope the baby could go to a loving member of the family...but I could see how that could turn contentious between the mother's family and the shooter's family...sounds messy, especially considering there may be big money involved as he was a professional athlete 4 years in. I read earlier that several Chiefs players wanted to put together a fund for the baby. That, and of course they are left wondering what they could have done to prevent this from happening...which is unfortunate because there probably wasn't anything they could do. QB Brady Quinn was a Bronco when Kenny McKinley killed himself...and now he' in KC when Belcher does it. Terrible stuff. |

How can you be so insensitive! |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() The KC Chiefs are doing the right thing. The game will be played as scheduled. There will be a moment of silence...and it won't be to recognize the killer. It will be to recognize all victims of domestic abuse. That is the right move in my opinion. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Mental illness? I question that in this situation. The fact he killed his girl friend SCREAMS to me (2 years now working with survivors of domestic violence) that he is an abuser. He took the coward's way out. I bet if all the facts ever came out there would be a litany of reports that he'd been verbally and physically abusive to the mother of his child. The whole situation is a tragedy and yes, I agree I will not ridicule the abuser for having taken his life, but I, for one, would not relish seeing the child awarded custody to a man who likely had been abusing the mother for some time. Thank you for helping the victims of domestic abuse. You may be right that this is the tragic end to a pattern of behavior. But I believe that underlying psychological problems surely contributed. Helping him work through those could certainly have save two young lives yesterday. |

Without knowing all the facts isn't this too hard to call? I think it's great that you believe it could be fixed with the right help (sadly not easily available anyway) BUT we also need to be realistic, some people are just badazz b*stards. Suicide on its own is a tragedy certainly (my father in law took his own life) but I tend to agree that if someone murders someone else I lose any sympathy I may have had. If someone murdered a family member of mine, I wouldn't give a sh*t if they had mental illness or not. Edited by jobaxas 2012-12-02 4:00 PM |

I suppose in 27 years I've been to WELL over 1000 domestic abuse calls.....many of which ended in serious injury, some that ended in murder, and a handful of murder/suicides. I don't care what you call it.....it's some idiot control-freak who blows up for any number of reasons....mostly conjured up in his pea brain. (yes, I know women can be abusers, but rarely) I have no problem ridiculing these idiots....and if you'd really like to see insensitive, ask me how I feel about men who sexually abuse children. (get them some help too...and let me know how that goes for you) At some point you just call it like it is....and someone who kills his wife/girlfriend over his dumb arse control issues can rot in hell for all I care. I can still learn alot about running and triathlons, but I've learned all I need to learn about this type of person...there is nothing anyone can say to change my mind. How's this.....I'm sorry a giant rock didn't fall on his head and kill him before he had the chance to do what he did........that's all the sensitivity I can come up with, and it's more than he deserves.
