Sorry to hear your sick.  I'm just getting over a bad cold.  Tough to stay healthy when you have children.  I don't have any childen but I work with a bunch of unhealthy people.   I hope you're feeling better.

Trifan76 - I'm going through the same thing. Coughing and hacking, sinuses plugged - I'm snoring so bad I drive the dog out of the room and wake myself up! It is really hard for me to drive by the pool where i swim or see some bikers out. I really want to get at it but I know I'd be cough up chunks in no time. Rest, lots of fluids, etc. Look at me giving advice wish I'd follow it!

I hear ya, Trifan76, cus' I had similar experience recently. I got really frustrated too cus' regular exercise is supposed to booast one's immunity. Whatever happened to that? And the sad thing is, I am sick longer than before! Alas, must be getting old. All I can say is lots of fluid and vitamins. Wiped down the chairs, phones, keyboards etc to leave no germs behind. If I am not super sick, I would still do a short run or ride so that I don't feel like a total slacker. So good luck and hope you recover soon.

oohhh!!! That stinks.

I work with the public ( ) and ever since I started taking extra anti-oxidents, I think I've maybe had three colds in six years (did I just jinx myself? ?)

Whole Foods sells an herbal expectorant -yeah, you get kinda loud (the BF took it, not me) but he was over his issue by day 2 of the CA wine experience (and I dint catch it.)

Take care of you!!!!!

One very, easy simple way of preventing colds is to take Vitamin C crystals. Mix a teaspoon of Vitamin C (four grams) in water with half a teaspoon of baking soda (reducing acidity) and mix. Drink it down. When you have a cold take that every two hours. Your body will suck it up like a sponge. You know you've had enough when you get soft stools.

I take 20 grams of Vitamin C every day and never get sick, never get a cold.

I know the feeling. I've had a cold for like three weeks now and it doesn't seem to want to go anywhere. I haven't been able to train as much as I want to and I have my first triathlon coming up in two weeks. I just want to feel better!

I hope everyone else who is sick starts to feel better soon.

I felt good enough on Saturday to bike so I did an easy flat ride and it almost killed me! Coughing and hacking - the next morning I felt like c###p! I did a easy walk last night and I feel better today but I still can't imagine getting into the pool. It was one thing to wipe my nose on my cycling gloves (washable) but what do you do in the pool! PLus if I start coughing I could almost drown! (maybe too much drama). I'm going to give it a couple of more days. It sure is going around.

I was sick two weeks ago... took a whole week to get over the cold.  Then another week to start feeling better-enough to train.  Yesterday's race seems to have sucked the life out of me and today I find myself wanting to take yet another nap.  I think I'll skip swimming tonight and just veg for a while.

I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.  I think it's time to get back on my regimen of Emergen-C packets and lots of water.

And, I read recently (will have to find the article) that endurance athletes actually tend to get sicker, longer, than others.  Especially after a hard race.

Don't you feel like your kids are walking petri dishes? I am sick all the time in the winter.  I have found that if I can run through it, I usually get better faster. You might want to rule out a sinus infection...that can leave you feeling sick continuously.

I am sorry you are sick...that is so hard, especially with the little ones. Wish I could help.
