I have nothing but respect for someone who can train for and complete an IM!

Good for you, sounds like a great race.

Does anyone know how fast this one fills?

Usually within about 10 minutes, but I did hear it was still open late this afternoon.

It's still open right now.  I wouldn't mind doing this one, but I don't want to commit to another full IM until after AZ.  Kind of a catch 22, eh?

I'm in!!!!

Where do I even begin with training and getting my arms around this beast!  For sure I need to really work on the bike leg.  Where are good places to ride long rides with a lot of hard hills?  Can one prepare well in the flat lands of MN?

I'm thinking of doing 2-3 half marathons in the winter and spring, 2 triathlons per month included HIM in June and July and leave more time for training. My goal is 14hrs or less.

I'm partial to the E metro (St Croix river valley), but after riding 100+ in the S metro I'd say that will do you just fine as well.  I don't believe you an prepare adequately for IMWI on the flats, but if that's all ya got, go for it!

Lake Placid was the same way. If FL and AZ take this long to sell out, somethings up!

Supply and demand curve shift. Increase price plus more IMs and more people opting for nonbranded race. That said, I'm in for #2. Did inaugural IMMT and I'm thinking very similar.

I trained for Mont tremblants hilly bike beast in MN and the even flatter IN so yes it can be done. Of you have a trainer do a lot of high resistance work.

Woot! We're volunteering, managed to get slots in the early shifts for strippers and then from 3:30 - 7:30 as catchers. Hopefully we'll be able to help you on both ends of the race!
