Subject: comet Macholz is up
From our meteorologist at work. I'm sure the picture is frmo a telescope but still kind of cool.

"there is a comet that is up and pretty easy to find, just west of Orion & getting close to the Pleiades this weekend. Use binoculars and get the Pleiades into one side of the field of view & the comet (which looks like a small white fuzzy ball) should be on the opposite side of the binocular field of view. best time to view is between 6-10 (mtn time) pm and try to get away from bright outdoor lights."

Yes, I've spotted it with binoculars a couple of times and am waiting for a clear night when I can take a good look with my 8inch diameter F7 Dobsonian telesope.  Night skies have been overcast here for over a week now.  As you said, it will look like a gray fuzzy ball/cloud in the sky through binoculars.  Easy to miss if you're not looking for a faint image.
