Comments: It was a bit muggy and hazy and on the warm side but the race was pleasant. This time I went off slower than before but quickly found my HR pace. I kept it between 175 and 184 most of the time and felt like I was moving across ground pretty well. I ran up all hills, even the horrid one, and felt good. I was delighting in how much faster I was going to be today than last time, one minute, maybe two... I couldn't wait to find out. I didn't stop for water but drank from my amphipod a couple of times. The last mile dragged on longer than I think it ought to have, and my split on it was something like 13 minutes. I landed in a different place than the last time I ran it and I'm just plain confused about the course: I don't know where I went wrong, I never saw a turn, I don't know if I did it right this time or last time and how they are different... but when I got to the end my final time was a full minute slower than last time, despite the fact that I ran faster this time. I really just don't get it. Anyway, I felt pretty good afterwards. No sore hip, no urge to puke. I'm glad I ran it, whatever it is I ran. Post race

Got dropped off by my husband after rushing to get to the race.
Ran to the porta-potty, stretched a bit, wondered why the race was starting so late.
