Swim
Comments: I feel I had a good swim, a little slow due to not training to my fullest during the last three weeks due to being sick and work requirements. I also hooked my arm on the lane dividers several times during the lane changes. What would you do differently?: Practice swimming the serpentine. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Much better bike this year than last, but like with the swim I could have done much better had I trained properly. I had ridden my mountain bike only once prior to this race and that was a preview of the course two week before. What would you do differently?: Spend more time honing my Mountain bike skills and endurance. Transition 2
Run
Comments: The run, like the bike was on the UAF Ski Trails, lots of hills and wet boggy areas. What would you do differently?: Train better Post race
Warm down: Hydrating and eating. lots of good food choices, fresh fruit, bagels, water and powerade. What limited your ability to perform faster: This being an off road triathlon, I was a little slow due to not training to my fullest during the last three weeks due to being sick and work requirements. I was able to cut about 20 minutes form last year, but, I know I could do much better, if I spent more time riding in like conditions. I exerted way too much on the bike, which caused me to be a little slow on the run as well. Event comments: This was a great event, much better organized and conducted than last year.
