Started another thread on the big board and am still awaiting the invite to Phil Phest, but what are peeps doing on Saturday whilst the athlete types should be all getting rested and in touch with their chi and stuff?

So I am guessing that the lack of response means that there is in fact a Phil Phest and I havent been invited.    I might be donkey tough, but it doesnt mean the little donkey doesnt have feelings.

Awww, Dude.  I would always invite the Head Donk to any phest, IF I was throwing one!

I'm all over the place with volunteering, I have Tammy and Peter housing up at my place and hoping to make sure that I'm there at the house otherwise my pup wouldn't be happy without a familiar face there, and then my oldest boy has a football game Sat. late afternoon and wifey having to work the concession stand after 6 p.m.  WHEW! It's tough being a parent during IM MOO weekend!!

I won't be able to get out myself Sat. night.

I'd be happy to offer up my chaotic house for a get together Saturday afternoon. I think it'd have to be a "hey let's all throw in some moola & order pizza from down the street" type of get together, cause I don't have time to really pull off much else.

Or, I can try to help arrange some sort of gathering at a local establishment. My husband is working starting at 3:00, so I'll have 2 kidlets in tow whatever I do. So, if I'm to be involved it has to be kid friendly and done early enough for me to get kids in bed.

Hm...that's not really sounding like a rocking good time, is it?

This doesn't really apply to the get together type atmosphere you may be searching for, but for the kids there is a fun run around the Capitol on Saturday morning. Registration is at 7:30 and the race starts at 8:30am and it's called the Fit Kid's Challenge. They finish at the same finishline area as the Ironman finish. My son will be doing it and has for a few years and it's free. They also have several events on the Monona Terrace following the run.

Yep, the kiddo is already psyched for that. Although, I have a feeling he'll be walking at least part of it. I'm not sure he's ever run quite that far.

I won't be rolling into town until around 5-5:3-ish on Sunday AM as we are going to the Brewers game on Saturday night.

I am going to have to set 8 or 9 alarms to make sure that I can get up in time to leave around 5 or 5:30.

Yep, last year I overslept and missed half the swim. That won't happen this year.

Funny- I've had that exact dream every night for the last 2 weeks.

Something tells me none of the participants will be getting much sleep the night before.  You hafta be one cool cucumber to be able to turn your mind off before such a huge event.  I just read the schedule of events and I am psyched.  And, I am not even thinking one little bit about joining the madness next year.  Can't imagine how ya'll feel this week, much less Saturday night.

And the more we keep talking about it, the less worried they'll be, right?

I made a point of just getting away from everyone about 6pm or so the night before.  Not this year though!!   Does the Essen Haus seem kid yet beer friendly enough maybe?

Seriously?  I remember being in the back room which isnt kid friendly but regular dining room early enough in the evening?  I had a few drinks in me and was walking around Madison on a heavily sprained ankle for my bros bachelor party, but it seemed nice from what I remember...ahem.

Maybe kid friendly as in "I've-drunk-a-couple-of-boots-and-now-I'm-acting-like-a-kid" kid-friendly.  That's a seriously fun place, but not so much for kids.
