Has or does anyone else do the Tri Tech TT on Tuesday (every other Tuesdays)? I had a good time, the course is an 8.32 mile loop. You can do 1 up to 3 total. First 4 miles is a slight incline most of the way, the second half is rolling hills and some good decents to make up for the first half climbing. I improved my bike time since Wendys, so I am a happy camper tonight.

I did 2 laps as well tonight. I agree its on the tough side, especially that first half, your either climbing or on a slight incline. Once you make that last turn, you finally get some relief and able to finally crank it as long as you don't blow up the first half. I wasn't anywhere near your pace, but I improved my speed since Wendy and had a negative split on lap 2.

My normal bike loop took me over to where they would do the TTs. I never did it... I agree with the course summary. You start going up and you don't really stop until you take the second right hand turn. It is only a 1-2% grade, but it challenging when you are trying to red-line it. The rest is pretty flat.

I was there last night and did two laps.  I had the Blue Cannondale - Thomas Schroeder.

My time was not nearly as good as when David (from post above) and I did one last year were he was 41:08 for two laps and I was 41:12.

Last night I was around 42:15 for two laps (which is about the same as I did in June).  Ron Thomas did 3 really good laps.  He was somewhere very very close to 63:00 for three laps.

I'll be back in two week I think, and I hope I'll do better.

Did I meet you?

I remember you in the parking lot and passing me on the second lap.  I was the larger guy on the white and grey Giant.

Has anybody here joined the Tri Tech club?  How is it?

Looking to add some more organized cycling.

Confirmation of what David (Newbz) said.  They used to offer it only to members.  Now it is open to all.  I am not a member now, and did two this year.  Many others there are also not members.

I will most likely be at the next one.  I was not happy with my performance Tues.  (I did not do badly, but showed no improvement over previous visits).  Let us know who is going to be there next time and we'll all say hello.

All depends on work and if I can get off in time to make it, if I am off early, I will be there.

I want to get one in before the end of season, then come back in the spring to check progression made over the winter.  I plan to wear my trainer out.

I have never been to one, but I'm interested. Where is the start, and what is the procedure?
I've never done a TT of any kind.

Do they time it for you, or are you going by your watch or bike computer?

They have an assigned timer and they send riders off in 60 second intervals.  Here is the email I got from COTT in reference to the last one.

___________________________________________________________________

This week, Tri-Tech will hold its biweekly TIme Trial.  This ride is open to anyone who wishes to get faster on the bike.  Please note that we are interested in a SAFE and successful ride, so we require that all riders abide all rules of the road as well as those of a typical triathlon (no drafting, no blocking (riding in the middle of the road) and general common sense on the bike.

Time: Sign-ups and warm ups - Tuesday - 6 pm - 6:30 pm

Time Trial START TIME: 6:30 pm - first rider goes off. (we seed from slowest to fastest.)

Start Location: Twin Bridges Boat Ramp on Red Bank Road; this is a gravel lot located just South and EAST of the Intersection of Sunbury Road and Red Bank Road in Galena (Turn right at the stop sign T/intersection and go 1/4 mile to the gravel parking lot.)
To MAPQUEST or GPS the starting location, go to 4790 Red Bank Road Galena, Ohio 43021

Course: 8.4 mile loop of all right turns (riding "clockwise".)  PLEASE familiarize yourself with the course PRIOR to riding it, so that you do not get lost/off course.

Closed to traffic? NO - ALL traffic rules must be observed/obeyed (i.e. stop at the 2 stop signs.)

Laps:

Timer: Randy H.

Results: Provided to those who participate.

Side Comment: This ride is great for ANY rider - whether you average 15 mph or 25 mph.  The loop course allows for you to practice getting your "race legs" on the bike without ever worrying about being dropped or unable to finish.  Pick your distance and your speed!
Up to 3 laps may be completed for time.
