My family and I have arrived in Parker from Florida.   Wanna give a huge thank you to all that helped make our move a bit more easier.

However, our moving truck is now officially 2 days late and the word this morning is it "might" be here tomorrow.   Everything we own (outside this laptop and the clothes we have on) is on that truck.   Our son starts school tomorrow and all his new school supplies and clothes are on the truck.   I have no shoes, bike, swim gear, etc. etc. to do anything!   We are very frustrated that we feel our lives are on hold right now.

Also, if anyone has or know anyone that has any decent furniture...let me know.   We sold our sofa, kitchen tables, chairs, etc. before we moved.   We don't want to buy anything new because we are waiting until we buy a house later this year.   We'll be sitting on the floor until we get something real cheap, so let me know if you have anything.

But other than that, we are thrilled to be here.   We went out for a walk last night so our son can see his school (Mammoth Heights), and we love it.   Saw several bikers (a few on Tri bikes) and runners and got jealous we couldn't join them.   We live in a townhome in StoneGate, just off Jordan near the Interstate.  I'd invite anyone over, but we ain't got much to see yet.

Thanks again!!!

Welcome to Colorado!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bummer about the moving truck being late.
If you have your running shoes, at least you could go for a run...

For cheap furniture there's a place called Moosely Seconds that sells nice used furniture that I've heard great things about.  I can't personally vouch for them as I haven't been there, but lots of friends have!

Sorry to hear about the late truck- that's the worst!

Oh yikes!  We moved to Colorado in 1979 with 3 kids, a dog and a cat.  Our stuff got sidelined by a truckers strike and we were without anything for 10 days.  It was the L.O.N.G.E.S.T ten days of my life!  We have an air mattress you can use.  PM me if you'd like to borrow it.

Welcome to Colorado!

Excellent, congratulations on your safe arrival!

I know we have a toy storage-rack for the kids sitting in the garage, you're welcome to it; I'll check if there's anything else in the storeroom that might be useful.

We're right across the highway in Highlands Ranch off Quebec, so about 10 minutes from Stonegate.

If your stuff still doesn't show up, I also have an air mattress and bunch of sleeping bags if you want to borrow anything!  Geez, that is crazy!

I have a set of twin size trundle beds my wife wants out of the house. The frames are old, but in good shape, and the matresses are only a couple years old. I was going to put them on Craigslist for $200, but will let them go for $150 if you are interested.

Welcome to Parker!  I think I am familiar with the t-homes you are living.  We live about 3-miles south of there...just SW of Main and Jordan.  Once you get settled i would be happy to get out on a ride and show you some bike routes (there are some good ones SE of Parker). Sorry, we had a garage sale last month and got rid of some old furniture so can't help you out there.  Unless my wife went out and bought a new mattress for our daughter (she mentioned something about it over the weekend).  If that's the case we have a full mattress.

ok, a BT'er is bringing over some air mattresses and some cooking utensils....so we are set until our stuff arrives.   the moving companies website says our stuff finally left Kansas City today and will be here tomorrow (hopefully).   been sitting in KC for 2 days for some reason.

we are stressing a bit because my nursing license that was suppose to get approved 2 weeks ago is still pending.   if it doesn't go through this afternoon, i can't start work until August 18th.   that's 2+ weeks without a paycheck.   we are ok, but thats $$ we were depending on to help offset the money we've spent to move.    so things are crazy at the moment.

i'll look at those 2nd hand stores for furniture and pm those who mentioned they might have some things we could use.   right now we aren't too picky since we want to save money for the new house when we buy before the year is out.

thanks again to everyone.   so far we love it here and everyone has been very gracious.   looking forward to getting out and training.

I have an old futon mattress (assuming the mice haven't gotten into it) that you are welcome to have. I don't think we have the frame anymore, but I'll check down in the basement tomorrow. Let me know if you want it.

Glad to hear everything has arrived, hopefully you're settling in.  A ride sometime sounds good, although I generally stick to terrain west of I-25.  Lots of god paved trail network and road rides to choose from though!
