Elite Veteran  831    Northern Va/Metro D.C. |  Subject: race earlier todayUnfortunately, had a slight cold which left me feeling "run-down" prior to the race, and the mild, drizzly weather didn't add any comfort. I placed 2nd in my age group! Not sure what overall, until results are posted tonight (hopefully top 15). I was surprised at how deep the field was; 5 min. run pace/miles were not uncommon. Some were using this race as a warmup for the Columbia triathlon in MD. where Ironman Hawaii World Champion, Peter Reid, will be competing. Thanks, everyone. also: I tumbled over at my T2 dismount! I clipped out with my left foot, stabled myself, however since it was so wet, I slipped and tumbled right over onto my right side!
