Hi Fellow 70.3 Animals!

I know that Endurance Concepts is doing an awesome clinic this weekend but for those who can't make it, a group of us are going to Augusta next weekend to survey the swim, run course and then ride the bike portion.  This is an informal thing and all are welcome to join.  Some of our group are very experienced ironmen so I think they will be able to give us some good pointers.  The plan is to go up for dinner the night before and then get up bright and early sunday to do the ride.  If you want more information send me a private email and I will follow up.  Hope some can join us, should be fun...

A group of us locals have started riding the course Sunday mornings at 7:00 AM.  What time are you all planning to get started that morning?

We meet at Andy Jordans Bicycle.  The parking is somewhat limited though.  I am trying to think of a better place to meet so I am hoping Janelle will join in with a suggestion.  Downtown on Broad Street has plenty of free parking and is really close to the bike shop.

A good place to meet is the swim finish. There is lots of parking there and of course it is the start of the bike.

jackiem4457 - 2009-08-14 9:11 AM

what pace?

This past Sunday my pace was 18.72 but I pushed harder that last 5 miles or so.  I would say 17 - 18 is the normal pace.  We normally do at least 3 stops for water refills, potty breaks, regroup, etc.  I was thinking about starting with the group and not doing a couple of the stops and going just a little further.

Ok- so 7am at the boathouse?  Sounds good.

FYI- I plan to go at an very easy pace on Sunday- between 16.5-17.0 mph.  So I will be bringing up the rear

Hi,

It is people from the sport factory et al...But it is Not an 'official' Sport Factory thing...

So I think the consensus is 7 am sunday bike start at the swim finish.

My guess is we will break into two groups because I do an 17-18 mph but hubby who is coming and some of the others are more a 15-17 mph.  My cell phone is 678-644-3423 for anyone who wants to double check on our start time and/or meet up for dinner saturday night.  I look forward to meeting everyone...

Go Augusta 70.3!

Just a little FYI for your planning purposes - no bathroom where you are starting from.  Have fun and enjoy the course!
