Subject: RE: Austin TriThat is about the longest T1 I've seen, by the time you run from the lake into the bike area, then run out and go down that sidewalk to get to the street... At least everyone else has to do it as well Swim went well, other than getting my first punch in the nose (only surprising thing is that it never happened before I guess). I like the bike course, but it did get awfully crowded by my 3rd loop, especially coming back down Congress after the turnaround (saw one guy that had taken a nasty spill there). Good thing about the run course is that the twists and turns keep giving you a new target destination to shoot for. Plenty of pizza, fruit, water, soda, etc. after the race; and I thought the U2 tribute band was pretty good. Oh, and the tech t-shirt and nice visor were cool and useful goody-bag items. Jack and Adam definitely know how to put on a great race!
Overall I had a good race, and finally had a semi-decent swim. Maybe those swim intervals are starting to pay off... JD |
