Problems w Gramin 305 and BT log

Does the workout show up on a day before or after?

I'm looking into it. Sorry for the delay in replying. I'm racing tomorrow so give me through Monday to see what's up. In the meantime, it would be helpful if you could send me a tcx file of one of the workouts that isn't being displayed in the list.

There is the .tcx in the rar file on my last post. You can open it with winrar. Thanks a lot for your help and good luck on your race.

Has there been any resolution to this problem?  I ask because I used to have a Garmin Edge 305 and it uploaded everything fine, however I sold the Edge and just got a Forerunner 305 and did a run on Saturday and a bike ride today but it says there are no track on the device.

Just uploaded a fix. Give it a try and let us know if it works.
If it doesn't post as much detail as you can.

I'll be doing more testing with a 305 and 405 in the meantime.

Just tried it again, realized that I didn't have the run from Saturday, but I do have the 45min indoor trainer ride I just did a half hour ago.  However, it finds the device, but says there are no tracks to upload.

Uploading workout data is a Performance Member feature.

is that a change recently? I have been uploading from my Edge 305 for the last 2 months on a free membership?

IMHusker, I can't see any evidence in the database of your uploading workout data from a Garmin. \

Are you perhaps thinking of uploading route data to the Route Tracker? That's a free, separate feature.

The BT log still can't find the workouts from my garmin... it says receiving data and then 0 workouts found...

Can you confirm that it finds no workouts for 8/18, 8/19 and 8/20?

Mine makes it to where it says "transfer complete" and then it just freezes.  It never goes to the next part where it lets me choose the workout to import into the log.

No workouts found on those dates

I'm in Australia and I get these same symptoms because of the timezone I'm in (GMT+10 I think).  "Today" here in Australia is actually tomorrow in the US/UK where the BT servers are.  When you try to upload, the widget looks for today's data and of couse doesn't find any.

Of course, if I do it at certain times of the day like after 9pm I think, it works, because then the US/UK is now in the same day.

It's a known problem that was hopefully going to be fixed by Garmin a year ago.  Since I first reported it there has been a major update to the Garmin plugin but it didn't address this problem.

My workaround is to either delay doing the update for a few hours or day, or going to the day before/day after the date and trying again.  This usually finds the data, but then I have to cut/paste it into the correct day and I lose lap timings.

Well my workouts doesn't show on any day... so I think is not the same problem, but I'm indeed in a different time zone GMT -4:30, but my garmin is on gmt -5 (US east)

One other thing to check if you're using the Edge 305.  If you have the Edge set to Running, then try to import into Cycling (or visa versa), it won't find anything. 

Occasionally I accidentally have my Edge set to the wrong activity (like having it set to Cycling when I'm out for a run).  The workaround is to import it into the other activity then cut/paste it to the right one.
