Subject: September Swim-Bike challenge?

Oh why not, we all seem to be having lots of fun this year/summer with our BT challenges so why not a September challenge. Smile

Since I have a case of Plantar Fasciitis and had to switch training modes from Marathon to Olympic (aqua/bike) I'd like to see a swim-bike challenge, anyone else?

I have the spreadsheet!  As for teams how about; US vs Canada/ROW, Boys vs Girls again, random, etc...

I'm in.  It'd be nice to not do boys vs girls for this one as we've done that a lot recently.  Could always do regions of the country depending on how many people sign up.

I could go for that one as well! Spent the past 2 months focusing on run, so I guess it's time to pay some attention to my bike!

I like regions of the country/world - West (US) is best!

I am a complete and absolute newbie. I don't even have a bike yet, so I've been using an old stationary bike. I rejoined the health club this month, so I've started swimming again, at least.

Can I join this challenge? (Got my fingers crossed!)

Oooh, oooh - I want to play...I love challenges & agree with Artemis, let's play some other teams (other than boy/girl)...not that I mind being a girl, but some variety is good.

Absolutely Dee!  Anyone is welcome to play along.

OK All, right now 7 or so have expressed interest, when I see 15 I'll start a new thread with the rules.  You will need to post your S-B goals on that thread, Distance or Time format.

How about we do regions; WEST, CENTRAL (say Central and Mountian time zones), and EAST...

I'm up for it. I really need motivators to get me in the pool as that is by far my weakest link!

I'd love to do a swim-bike challenge.

Will we be able to count trainer miles? I'm in Korea and ther is a ton of rain here now. I hear it stops sometime in September but I am starting to do a lot of trainer time as of last week (when my trainer arrived!).

Anyways, the long and short of it is that I am in!

Please count me in.  I have my first HIM in Nov and I am following a run focused program without specific swim/bike workouts planned.  This will definitely help me make sure I get these disciplines in.

Count me in.  I have a race on the 23rd, and one on Oct 7th, and this will be just the ticket to keep me on track.

I like the idea of Canada vs US or by region, but equally good with Boy vs Girl.

Interesting!  Have not looked at next months training plan for details yet, but I must do all three anyway.

Count me in on the Central Team

Sweet, yet another virgin, LOL!

I'm going to post the rules and such on another thread that will get a sticky to the top lists.  There you will need to post your goals in either a distance (km/miles, meter/yards) or time (min/hours)format for each.  Also you will need to post your location or desired location (E-C-W) so I can put youi on the correct team.

When it comes to your goals you need to review your training plan and take into consideration things in life such as travel, illness, pool closings, etc.  I have typically in the past taken anywhere from 75 to 90% of my TP totals as my goal.  If you underestimate your goals and finish too early you will have to accept an increase!  I may do somethign a bit different this time and allow up to 120% over your goal, I'm debating it right now.

Take a look at the current Aug S-R challenge, the rules will be generally the same as there.  Only prize the winner get is a pix trophy to display in there logs if they wish, no Avatar changes or public floggings!!!
