Is anyone doing Insanity? I did my first round back in Jan. I started Round 2 two weeks ago but fell off the schedule due to Hellcoming, I mean Homecoming week at my school-late nights & early mornings. Anyhow, starting Monday, Sept. 27 takes us all the way to Thansgiving--perhaps a little pumpkin pie as a reward for getting through it! Any takers? I have no idea how to do spreadsheets or anything to keep track, but maybe someone can suggest how to keep track of our progress? Any takers?!

Im starting Monday 9/27, was doing a P90x Challenge that shelled out, it started out strong then it seemed like only one or two of us were left , on to Insanity now!

Ill be doing my workouts in my living room fo the next few weeks, then I'll be switching it to the garage when it gets cooler, which workouts do I need extra room for doing for certain exercises? I can move some furniture.

Great start!

The cardio plyos you'll need some extra room--make sure you have at least five feet on either side of you.  Actually for each workout you'll want about that much room.  I didn't do the Fit Test this round, but did the first time I started the program. You may want to--it's really cool to see the growth.  I did the fit test on the first day, day 30 and day 60 and was amazed at how much fitness I gained.  All I can tell you is get ready for a sweatfest!  Smile

Day 1 finished, I didnt see your post until now so I just winged it, I did it in three feet and took very tiny steps in between those hiesman things. This is going to take some serious effort to build up to, hopefully this dedication spills over into my diet. Im already sore and I just finished, I pushed that hard, the moves are not difficult and I like the way each round speeds up. I wont lie, I did about 80% of it, I think, and I was soaked. What I like is that I feel like I worked out!

How'd you like the warmup alone?  That killed me in itself for the first few weeks!  I still can't get all the way through all three sets of the side to side abs right into the in and out abs in the second half! Killer! I agree with you...it really feels like a workout when you're dripping with sweat.  Wait 'til you get to the Pure Cardio...

I had to pause for the first few seconds because I dont know the moves, and I made it through only because of bad form which I need to focus on. With P90x they do a sample of the move , with Insanity theres no stopping except for water breaks, I kinda like that because I know I can push it until then. I do like the warmup, I also like that they stretch after fully warmed up. I didnt start to have trouble until the level one stuff, my strength started to give out by then.
Day 2 tonight, and I think its pure cardio!

I did Cardio Recovery tonight, could not brush off the soreness, my calfs are killing me. Off to my recovery drink, this is a wonderful switch from P90x, so far I dont know if I would mix the two together in a hybrid, I like the change of scenery of doing one at a time. Day 2 done!

Ohhhhh yeah...the calf issue! I went through that too-in fact I was doing a hill session in the afternoon after having done an Insanity workout in the morning & I seriously strained first my left calf & a few weeks later my right. I don't know which specific moves are so hard on the calves, but something definitely is!Day 2 & we're going strong! I agree with you about P90X...be a lot to mix together. I have the Insanity Upper Body Strengthening & that's hard as heck too...but I love all if it!

Day 3 done!  Cardio Resistance today.  The warmup in this one is harder I think.    Hope you're less sore today!

I think that this program is well designed, I would have thought all the warmups are the same, I like that they constantly switch things up. No Im not less sore, its painful after I am stationary. I think its from the side to side stuff from pushing off.

I did Cardio Power & Resistance, not to take the fun out of this but I almost threw up twice, going from the jumps to the push up position. Great workout though, I cant rate the warmup, it seemed like one long warmup. Day three done!

One of my favorite lines of Shawn T's was in today's wrkout: "you can frickin' do it!". Makes me laugh everytime. I have definitely come close to throwing up a few times. Those moving pushups are hard for me- I can't do them as fast as he does. So many of the moves are total body...exhausting!

Today my calfs are sore again with a slight soreness in my abs and shoulders, it takes me about 30 ft before I can walk like Im not drunk. I like the fact that these workouts are extreme, but even better you can ease into it or jump in and out when your toast. I dont mean to ramble but I hope some of my opinions may get others involved, I really think triathlon training can be so much more than S/B/R and I think these workouts can help.

Good job on day 4!

I am not going to lie, it was really hard to get up and get moving this morning.  I almost talked myself into switching my off days so I could go back to bed, but then thought 'nope, just friggin' do it'.  Needless to say I ended up having a great workout.  Today was Insanity Pure Cardio (that $hit is bananas, yo!  My other favorite Shawn T quote!) and I also did Cardio Abs.  Usually that starts in week two or three I think, but I'm just adding it in now.

Funny on the carpet comment.  My workout room is carpeted and I definitely have worn spots where I do the majority of the Insanity workouts!

We are doing awesome!

Keep fighting that urge, Trust Me Im doing the same, I know if I miss one workout it makes the next even harder!
Great news today, my soreness is going away and I can start to walk normal now, I hope it allows me to push that much harder during workouts, Im doing Pure Cardio tonight. I can feel changes already, the diet is still difficult so I have to fight that urge also. Have a great weekend!

Edited: That is a good quote!

If you're doing Pure Cardio tonight, you'll hear it...it's at the very end.  Yay for no soreness!  The funny thing about Insanity is that the stronger you get and the more you can push the harder it is! Can't wait to hear how you like Pure Cardio...have fun!  muahahahah....
