New user 2 | Subject: RE: TitanIV Group Open I would like to join this group. I plan to do my first triathlon (sprint) this summer. I have been working out and running consistently for a couple of years but still need to lose about 20 pounds to hit my ideal weight of 175. It would be great to get some help getting started and to have some accountablilty with some folks. Cheers! Bryce |

Regular 57 Port Huron, MI | Subject: RE: TitanIV Group Open NAME: jhanton/ Jackie STORY: I am a 24 year old Trust Administrator in the world of Wealth Management. Being a previous H.S. athlete, I still loving outdoor activities and recreational athletics (pickup soccer, horseback riding). Fortunetly, I married a man that who was previously a personal trainer and has as much of an appreciation/love for working out as I do, so we tend to keep in decent shape. In our free time (if ever we have any), I squeeze in time to be an advisor for a community youth organization, participate in local Rotary meetings and all the other "professional" functions you get roped into in the financial business FAMILY STATUS: Married with an awsome Great Dane, Zoe CURRENT TRAINING: 3-4x a week at the gym, 2-3 days of cardio with weights and 1 day of kickboxing LAST YEAR'S RACES: Muddy Buddy, Chicago (just for fun!) 2007 RACES: June 16th, Sprint, Big Fish Triathlon WEIGHTLOSS: 5 lbs by race day CURRENT TRAINING PLAN: I am going to adopt the 16 week 3x training plan from this website. Hopefully beginning the swimming portion this week (I know for sure the run/bike). MISC: To run a triathlon is my 2007 New Years Resolution because I always need some type of fitness goal to keep me focused at the gym. |

Expert 713 Rockledge, Fl | Subject: RE: TitanIV Group Open Welcome Jackie. Sounds like you are pretty busy and will have to do some time management with your training. Do you do early morning workouts? If not, you will probably need to start getting used to it. |

Regular 57 Port Huron, MI | Subject: RE: TitanIV Group Open I Truly dread early a.m. workouts!!! I would if I have to though, for the sake of great training. I'm hoping maybe to make room in the evenings a bit more. Our gym is open until 10pm and I don't mind being there late Luckily today I found a swim coach in my kickboxing class and she has done triathlons before. So I'll be hitting the pool 2x a week beginning next Monday, with her help on and off, more so to get me started and in good form. Any tips on what to make sure to work on? Below are my time goals for June 16th.... are these to lofty??? The times come from last years results (and are the 3rd place times for each event). I know for sure my run is already almost there. Have three wonderful boys 15, 20, 20 (Identical twins). All three are very active athletes. CURRENT TRAINING: I've been a weekend warrior for the past couple years. Just plugged the 20 week Sprint program into my planned calendar. LAST YEAR'S RACES: NA. 2007 RACES: Plan to do my first Tri at the Finger Lakes Sprint Tri Sept 9th in Canandaigua, NY. WEIGHTLOSS: 6' tall. Currently at 218 - would like to get back to 195 (where I was a couple years ago). |

Expert 713 Rockledge, Fl | Subject: RE: TitanIV Group Open Hi Bryce! Welcome to the group. LEt me know if you have questions about the training and diet. Diet usually is the hardest part, but Ihave found once you get a few weeks in it gets easier and you stop craving the sugar. |

The hardest part about getting started again is just getting out the door. IT quickly gets easier and you will find yourself looking forward to your next workout.

SWIM 500 10:29 BIKE 20k 44.32 RUN 5k 26.01 Well, I hated the morning workouts too at first and now love them. A big factor is you get the workout in with minimal impact on the family and nothing can get in the way of that workout later in the day. Plus, some days you may need to get 2 workouts in. I cannot give you specific swim tips as I am just an average swimmer :-) Time goals depend on fitness and training. If they seem reasonable to you then go for it! I try to have a goal and a stretch goal. Goal is basially an above average performance and stretch goal for those days where you just feel great! |

Veteran 235 Independence, KY | Subject: RE: TitanIV Group Open NAME: moreland007 / Kevin I'm a 27 year old software engineer who wants to be fit. I grew up playing soccer and basketball. I was very active when I was in highschool but since then things have tapered off. I got into triathlon last year and want to keep it a part of my lifestyle. I'm married with 2 children. My family (brothers and sister) are all active. They have run marathons, different tris and we have one IM'er (hope to add to that number some day soon). My wife is also starting to get into tris this year at St. Anthony with me, my brother, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. I'm currently in week 1 of the Olympic bike focused 16 week program for St. Anthony which is in late April. I think I will throw some more swim workouts in though. Prior to this I was training for a 10k on Thanksgiving and swimming. Alcon Tri-for-Sight in Lexington, KY (Sprint) St. Anthony Oly (Signed Up), maybe a HIM I've lost around 10 lbs since October. Not looking to lose weight maybe just become leaner [and drop 5 lbs. ]. 16 week bike focused Olympic from BT |
