Anybody have one?  My wife and I bought a Tempurpedic mattress about 10 days ago and are still trying to figure out if we want to keep it.  They have a 90 day exchange policy.  For any of you out there that have this mattress, how long did it take you to get used to it?

I don't have a tempurpedic brand but I do have a foam mattress, actually a latex foam one.

I have had it for about a year and I love it. Mine is from ikea, one of the ones that is only about 6" thick and has no box spring just a slated wood base. It is super firm but that is how I like it.

My parents just got one of the combo ones that is springs but the top is foam and they love it.

You have slept on your old mattress for how long? Its gonna take more than 10 days for your bodies to adjust! Give it a full 30 days then talk it over. I bet you will 'forget' to have that consversation!

We got one of those king size ones. We love it. It took about 2 months to get use to. I would go to the full 90 days to decide.

For me personally, I would wake up with a sore back. I thought it was bc of my running or weak core, but I eventually figured it was the bed. After two months, it eventually went away.

I will warn you. If you a "hot" person, it's a warm bed. The way it sinks in a bit makes it hot for some reason. My previous bed, I guess because it never sank in, it was not as hot. Hard to explain.

My wife bought one for us a couple years ago. I was skeptical, especially at the price. I hated it the first three days, but now really like it . Not sure how long it took me to get fully use to it. I have always been a light, restless sleeper, but have slept so much better since. The tough thing is that I have a hard time sleeping on anything else.

Bought mine in March.  Took the full 90 days and was still on the fence (big changes take some time to adjust to), but decided to keep it.  Am really glad I did.  Quality of sleep is far better than what I had previously.  On my old mattress I often woke up with a stiff neck.   That never happens now.  The only downside is that on those lazy weekend days (who has those....they are designated for long runs) it isn't a great "lounge around" in bed and read or watch tv mattress.  Bottom line:  better quality sleep = better quality days.

It took me about 2-3 weeks to get used to ours, but 3 years later, I'm still extremely glad we made the purchase.

I helped my Father-in-law put his together. By the time we finised I was exhausted.  However, Dad-in-law loves it. Says it's the only bed he'll ever use.

We have one.  My wife loves it.  If she sleeps on anything else her back kills her.  I hate it.  It actually hurts my back.  But then again I'm like 265 pounds and she's like 115.

I slept on a friends for 2 weeks and didn't care for it.  I was uncomfortable and HOT.  My husband and I got the pillows and love them but I don't think we'd ever go for the bed.

Our last bed was a foam mattress from Ikea. It was a queen. My in-laws gave us a king bed (traditional box spring and mattress) and it is so soft it kills my back. If it weren't bad for our marriage, I'd be sleeping in the old bed in the guest room, and let my wife have the new one to herself. I HATE it.

We had the mattress topper for two weeks before agreeing that we wanted to return it. It was hot, it hurt my back, I didn't get anywhere close to a full night's sleep because I kept being so uncomfortable that it would wake me up (every 45 minutes or so). Maybe if I were a back sleeper it wouldn't be so bad, but I'm a side (occasionally stomach) sleeper, and I felt like I was sleeping in a bowl. A soft, plush bowl, but a bowl nonetheless. My spine was not happy.

We only got the topper but I wouldn't sleep on a bed without it.  We actually bought three different sizes so that if we travel we'll have one that fits the bed we're on!

Bought a cheap one from The Complete Sleep shop on EBay, loved it, and half of my back pains went away.

(Yes, it is really wierd at first. Don't remember how long it took though...)

When we upgraded to a King, that EBay store only had toppers and pillows (still does not) so I bought a cheap one on Amazon. MISTAKE!

I am trying one with good reviews from Costco, was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but no one was home.

In 2009, we went with Costco's NovaForm Pure Comfort Grand (all foam, queen size). A little firmer at first than I expected, but it quickly settled in nicely (very glad we went with the firmer model).  At the time, it was like a quarter or a third of what the Tempurpedic cost.   Probably took 2-3 weeks before we got used to it, but everyone's different.

Prior to the NovaForm, we tried two pretty expensive foam/spring models from other stores.  Hated them.

Wow, what a way to dig up an old thread.  I can safely say that in the almost 3 years since I posted this, we have adjusted to the bed and love it.

Mine isn't Tempurpedic brand, it's actually from a local manufacturer, but I love my mattress.

A couple of family members have bought the inexpensive Sam's Club 12" memory foam mattresses and absolutely swear by them. For the price, it's hard to go wrong with those.

I should really put this question in Red, but I am genuinely curious, how is the Pizza making?  Take some getting used to?  I have visions of things just sinking away from me?

Have had mine since March 2011. Took a good month to get used to it, wasnt sure if it was for me, now, anyone tries to take it away and I will cut them. My co-worker has one and he was the one who made me give it a month.

A spammer came on and posted before you.  The post must have been deleted by Marmadaddy before you saw it but the thread stayed on the top page.  I happened to open the thread when the weird spammer post was still there.  But it worked, now I want a new mattress.

If you are a "hot" sleeper stay away from Tempurpedic. I am, and was miserable all 90 days of my trial. Something about the materials it's made of radiates heat on top of the mattress. It's the #1 complaint about the brand.

Returned it and went with the Sleep Number, which I am in luuuurrrve with.
