Here the come...here they come again. The Red Sox are supposed to break our hearts in August. I was as close as a true sox fan can get to writing them off when wow a win streak. BTW true sox fans still hold on to hope when there magic number is 15 with 3 games left. Let's hope the team keeps gelling for a post season run.

They can only get better. The new players are starting to perform really well - I'm liking Mintkaevich (sp?)!! Just need to get the bullpen confidence back up, and we'll cinch the wild card. Another upside - Anaheim and Oakland will be playing eachother a LOT the next month - their win records will get knocked down.

I'm optimistic. I'm not expecting to be let down until October this year.

Same here Mike! And like you, I was born and raised in the heart of Red Sox Nation...I come from Wrentham, MA. And, now I've moved into "Enemy Territory" - Long Island! The fun part is that the Yankee's Fans are getting anxious now...It's so fun!

Don't the Red Sox do this every year. They make a run at the Yankees, get to within 3 or 4 games and then the Yankees pull away again in September. I hope I'm wrong, because I hate the Yankees, but I'll believe this "comeback" when they send the Yankees home early in October.

Just kidding - I wouldn't wish injury on any athlete.
But seriously, have faith! We have a team of incredible vets that are starting to pull their stuff together. They all want it badly enough.

as much as I love Jason Varitek, I don't think Doug Mirabelli gets enough playing time.  This guy should be an every day catcher somewhere.  He hits and throws out runners.  Good thing he was in the lineup last night.

While the wild card is a nice way to keep interest in baseball thru the end of the season, 'winning' a wild card slot isn't nearly like taking the division and winning a pennant.  I don't think I can stand to see another wild card 'celebration' like last year. Definately looking forward to the 6 games with NY next month.

My favorite bumper sticker up here in Yankee land: "I love New York, but the Yankees still suck."

Ellen, I agree about Mirabelli. And he's cuter than Jason, even with the hint of pudge around the middle.
We are so lucky to have such great backup players. Which is another factor to carry us thru the postseason.

Don't follow sport teams events or watch tv but in my front page when opening the internet was reading that Sox(?) scored 22-0 to Yankees. My question is, were they playing basket ball instead of baseball? Was it the score inflated or something? My former CO must be fending himself with his yankees now that he may look like getting the bees of his back.

just chating,

The Sox and yankees were not playing against each other. On tuesday night the Yankees lost to the Cleveland Indians 22-0. The worst shutout in Yankee and American League history and the worst in baseball since 1900. I personally loved it!! The same night the Redsox were busy beating the Anahiem Angels 10-7. I can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out. GO SOX!

Sept. streach now folks. The best part about a loosing streak ending is the Evil Empire lost first today. Tomorow new streak and a tired body from my last race of the season. (well I can guarente at least one part.)

too bad on the loss today - but you really can't win 'em all. good thing the yanks lost also. I'm really reluctant to get too excited this year ( last year was rough) the yankees have too many bats to not be producing any runs lately I'm just worried they will break out of the slump just in time for october and the redsox are peaking too early -- maybe we can just keep it up and push them into the wildcard race instead.
