Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: IMKY Weightloss challange I voted 50 but my plan is really to just lose "as much as possible" w/o my endurance suffering. My driver's lisence weight....well, that is between me and the DMV. I'm just gonna do the best I can and whatever I end up, that's where I'll be. ~Mike |

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: IMKY Weightloss challange So I assume this is the official thread and we just had a nice poll to kick it off? Abbie, I'm so glad you're in for this, too! I mean, I love a nice sausagefest, but I love me the chickadees too. Any other chickies in this challenge? I need to read the names more closely. Do we want a cool team table so we can easily inspire each other? |

Member 198 | Subject: RE: IMKY Weightloss challange I voted 20 but specifically my goal is 18. Below are the details of my goal. Unfortunately I gained lots of holiday pounds and I'm hoping that by posting my current fatness, yes that's a word I made up, this group will keep me motivated to shed the fat poundage. Master 2014 Ohio | Subject: RE: IMKY Weightloss challange Where do I sign up? Give you the details: I was at 215.5 a few weeks ago when I started trying hard to loose the poundage. I'm at about 210.5 now. I'm trying to get to 190. So, 25.5 total lbs. |

So what is everyone's plan for shedding pounds/dropping bodyfat? Is it just increasing your training and/or changing your diet? I'm making menus this weekend and I'm going to be very strict about what I eat. I'm also getting back into full training mode. My biggest problem right now is icy roads, making it very difficult to run outside. Dreadmills are not my friend though so I'll keep plugging away outdoors. Has anyone used a nutritionist? I can't find any in my locale that have any expertise with athletes. |

AbbieR - 2009-01-10 11:12 AM We can't let a KY thread get knocked down on the board! So what is everyone's plan for shedding pounds/dropping bodyfat? Is it just increasing your training and/or changing your diet? I've had my bike VO2, power and LT tested and my run VO2 and LT tested. From the VO2 test I got break downs of what percentages of fat/carb that I burn at specific heart rates. That along with RMR, I can calculate how many calories I will burn in a day. Plan is to burn 1750 to 2625 more calories than I consume per week. That should give me a loss of 1/2 to 3/4 of a pound per week. But the most important thing about the VO2 max isn't the VO2 max its the percentage of fat/carb that I burn. Weight loss is great, but my main goal is to flip flop the ratio of carbs/fat for at least 145 and hopefully 155. Bike
So thats my plan. |

When you say "strict" do you mean cutting out junk food, counting calories, clean eating? CAn you tell I have a slight obsession with diet? Off topic, did you talk to your wife about the bikini thread idea? Ha ha!!

I'm going to train for an IM....that should take care of some of the excess baggage. I'm also using Livestrong.com and trying to stay about 2,000 calories/day....which is not much for a full-figured gal like me. ~Mike Edited by Rogillio 2009-01-10 12:58 PM |
