Sneaky Pete and I have discussed dinner somewhere around 6ish tomorrow downtown.  This is the backbone of a loose plan and the start.  Anyone else game for something and lets get some ideas to lock this pig in.  Otherwise, I am going to the Essen Haus dammit.

I'm looking forward to it.  Come on peeps, let's get a gathering of those of us who can drink beer Saturday!  (not that drinking beer has to be the focus...)

I'm good for doing something. What are people looking for? Give me an idea of price/type of food/whether or not parking is needed/etc. I'm sure I can come up with recommendations.

we need as few variables as possible or this becomes a mess.  Great Dane has decent variety?  Place that people can kinda order what they want.

I was going to offer up Ella's Deli on East Washington, just coming off of Hwy 30 from I-94.  Free Parking.  They have a carousel.

However, they don't serve beer and are about 4 miles from Downtown and Capital, so, maybe out of the question.

My oldest has a football game and I have to watch my other two boyz, otherwise, I would have had better planning for you all.  Sorry, Donks.

Peter, call me when you're coming in, if you still are.  I believe you still have my # from the PM.

I think Great Dane is an excellent suggestion. Family friendly, good beer for those that want it, etc. They have a basement room that can be reserved, I think, if there's enough people interested. Any idea who all would be coming?

Great German fare? Blech. You're talking to the lactose intolerant pseudo-vegetarian here. I starve at Essn Haus.

Sucks to be you.  You have NO idea of the delectable delights you are missing out on.  Schnitzel with spaetzel.  Awesome!

What - you expect us to stay on topic?

I already said I'm up for Great Dane. I think it's an excellent option. I can throw out other choices, but I was trying to keep things uncomplicated. :D

I think the Dane has the greatest mass appeal but maybe Sunday we can have a Essen Haus field trip for those that want to take a break or something.  Now that I think about it, I have a score to settle with the Dane cuz after my bro in law and I went there post MOO, I was only able to eat like 5 chicken nachos, a bite of my black and bleu burger and about a sixth of my beer cuz my stomach wasnt working.  Payback is a biznatch!

The Dane sounds great.  I was merely taking a jog down memory lane with the Essen Haus.  I am not even sure I will be there.  Just mixin' things up  BTW, what time is this shin dig happening?

Does 630 at Great Dane sound swell?  If so, lets get a general head count.  The Mrs and I are in!

Could we shoot for 6:00? Does that give people enough time to get to town? The kidlets usually go to bed about 7:00, and while I can push that back, I'll have grouchy, hungry kids if I push dinner too much later than 6:00. I'm one of those crazy old folk early bird types that would really prefer, oh, say, 5:00. :P

Yep, that's the place. It's one one of the angle streets that comes off of the Capitol. If you're standing at Monona Terrace  walk towards the capitol through Ironman Village. At the lights, turn right. It's at the next set of lights, on the right side of the street.

So, here's the head count as I think it stands:

Me and 2 rugruts
Joe and Lara
Peggy
Peter & Lori (?)
AmyJo & Craig and maybe some kiddos
Anna & family

Is that accurate? I think  I'll call and see if I can get a reservation for that big of group, if I have the right numbers here.
