Not being subjected to someone elses farts.

Nothing. I'm crazy in love with my husband and wouldn't go back to being single if you paid me a million bucks (and we even talked about it). I spent all of high school and most of college single. I'm thrilled to have someone to share my life with, and who, in turn, shares theirs with mine.

I am afraid i'll miss  being single, so I'll stay single - technically.  At least, I don't live with my BF.

as long as your not thinking someone will change or as long as your not trying to fix someone, there is nothing to be afraid of.

You missed the fine print when you two went to the courthouse. I specifically remember it says something about agreeing to not complain about gaseous attacks from "said person not related to you and not under the influence."

Dang fine print! Oh well, I guess the farts are a small price to pay.

There are definitely several things my husband does that drive me crazy, but I wouldn't trade being married for anything.

If "single" means unattached, then I miss the ability to do what I want when I want. My bf often complain that I am not spending enough time with him, la de da.

If "single" means living alone, then I miss not having to clean up other people's mess!

Oh yes, I agree with the part about passing gas and also the foul smell from someone else's "number 2".

CRAP!  I was looking for something in here that would make me feel slightly better about being single.  Instead I see how wonderful it is to have someone.

Will it EVER happen for me????  What's it going to take *deep sigh*  Being single is so damn lonely.  I'm tired of the lonliness

Cleaning up the house and knowing it will stay that way unless I mess it up.
Cooking for myself.
Not having to smell "man pee" first thing in the morning.
getting in the car and knowing it will have gas unless I forgot to fill it up.
Knowing that no one will ever eat the last cookie but me.
No shaving stubble scum in the bathroom sink.
Just paying to have things fixed right the first time...instead of at the last minute or once it's been destroyed.

Can you tell I've had a rather bad week?

oh but I have a headlamp for that, problem solved.

or maybe being bullied all the time to workout more when I fell like taking a nap.
oh, but I love that.

Nothing.  If you would have said what I miss about when we had no kids that would have been different, but I still would want to be without them.  They really have expanded my capacity for love and irritation both.

Not to hijack, but last winter my mother and I were in line to get on the ski lift when a guy comes up to her and asks if she's a single. She says, 'no, I'm married'. She has been skiing for years, yet thinks that some guy is hitting on her when all he wanted was a person to go up the lift wth. Go figure.

Did your mom start laughing after you explained that to her.
If your single you have no idea how good it makes you feel to think that someone is trying to hit on you.

I'm totally hyjacking, but this reminded me of an old story: There was this one day when my ex and I were just hanging out, and I was complaing and whining and generally just being high maintence and PMSy (hard to believe, I know!), and he looks over at me and goes "Poor baby... I bet you need a hug". I sniffled and nodded and fell into his arms for a nice big comforting hug. Well, he pulled me in, held me tight...and let go one of the biggest, smelliest farts ever conceived. And wouldn't let go.

I had to sit there and squirm until I started laughing and my bad mood was forgotten.

Yes, she did laugh. Out of embarrassment anyway. I still can't believe that she hadn't heard that in all the years we have been skiing. I think it feels good to be hit on no matter your marital status.
