The secret is, there is no secret. It is all about patience, consistency and frequency. My seasonal structure looks like: * Competitive season - early June - mid Sept * Off season - mid Sept - first Nov (train when I feel - only key is run at least 3x/week ) * Run/swim specific focus - Nov - end Mar (swim and/or run focus; running 4+ hours/week, swimming around 10-12km/week, 2-3 key trainer rides ) * Bike focus - Apr - May (consistent time in the saddle as race season approaches, still aiming to run 3-4hour/week and swim 3x/week ) Shane |
